About Indian Team
by vidya on Apr 17, 2005 09:17 PM

It is a question of Commitment towards responsibility.

Everyone is responsible for the result.

Rest in Peace

Better Luck Next Time (but we should feel bad about ourselves that too with Pak.)

need confident
by suraiz ahamed on Apr 17, 2005 09:12 PM

hi dear,

the result of the match shows tht indian team players were very good in both batting and bowling , but they failed to prove themselves during some high target matches.

we also remember tht indian team has chased the score of 324 , couple of years back.

so, what it require now is, besides the coach for the game, it also require,a sychotist for mental coaching so that they can trained to handle such a touch situations. they were losing their hope and tht resulting in poor performance.

lets hope, the forth comin tour of srilanka will be fruit ful one to indian team and all cricket fans.

cheers,
surraiz.

Our Cricket Team!
by Prashanth on Apr 17, 2005 09:11 PM

Since couple of years the team representing India has never represented India but BCCI. We beter call it BCCI XI rather than Indian Team. A player might have played good in past, but he shd be taken into team based on his current Performance. Look at Australian Selection Board, Steve Waugh didnot play for a math, he could never make it to the team. Our Players never have the guts, fire to play ad win the Match. Most ppl in Current Pakistan Team are new comers, and our team we have ppl wo r working from Decades, doing noting much. Its the winning attitude that matters, not ones name or fame.

Its high time we wake up!

:-)

Wots abt Ganguly...
by Rasesh Kumar on Apr 17, 2005 09:09 PM

Hi,

I see that there are many messages trying to say that "See, India looses without Ganguly." I would love to remind these messengers that India started loosing when he was captaining, specially after he failed to bat in tens of matches.

Thats the problem we Indians have, blind emotional support. All of us suffer from it. I agree that it was Ganguly who captained India when India was doing well. And he deserve a pat on the back for it. But when a player, specially a captain, is not doing any good then it is better to rest him and play with other good players. We cannot spend one national place on just a 'CAPTAIN' instead of a 'PLAYER+CAPTAIN'. The only good step we took was to rest him, but we did not have a good enough bench strenth to replace him. But anyway, this is the approach that we need to take, rest bad players and give chance to other deserving playes. Players can return, as they do in the Autralian team, when they come back to thier form in the national matches.

So Ganguly supporters, come out of Ganguly love spiral. Same goes for Tendulkar/Sehwag/other supporters.... "Who ever plays well, stays in, others on the bench."

This shld set accountability, I hope.

Reasons For the Debacle: Sachin Tendulkar
by Tameem on Apr 17, 2005 09:01 PM

Hi Prem,
Great work, I dont know how you can keep typing even as the Indian cricketers try to compete in putting up spineless displays.
The only way India or for that matter any team can be world class is to not have a Superstar in the team.
Trash Sachin. He is the worst thing to have happened to Indian cricket. No doubt he is a great player but like a black hole, he has amassed 400 odd crores of wealth through endorsements without giving us even one ICC Trophy, leave alone a world cup.
Contrast with Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Kiwis, England. Who is a Superstar? No one. The whole team is a unit.
Aussies too have no special glamour boy/Superstar. 7-8 of them together are better than Superstars of other teams, hence they win like Cyborgs.
Lara may have single handedly won 3-4 test matches for West Indies but without him, the team pur up a great performance recently, and once he is back, they lost even though Lara clicked.
Sachin is a Superstar with a politician's clout. No one can scream at him in the team, no commentator can ask his head to roll. As a rule, he has to be praised by everyone. Check the stats. He has played only 3-4 match winning knocks against teams that matter.

Spineless performance
by Manuel Vaz on Apr 17, 2005 08:53 PM

India has always struggled while chasing a big total. And, today too, India wilted under pressure.
India needed a good opening partnership. But, Sachin Tendulkar is awfully out of form and he could not keep up the scoring rate which put a lot of pressure on Sehwag. I think it is time to replace Sachin. He is trying to play normal cricket when his natural instinct is to play agressive cricket.
Also, the likes of Yuvraj Singh and Mohammed Kaif should be dropped from the team to give the middle order solidity.
And, the wisdom of the team management to bring Agarkar in place of Balaji for the crucial encounter, is questionable.
All in all, the performance by the Indian team was spineless and gutless.

Indian team should not play International Cricket
by Nahid Shaik on Apr 17, 2005 08:41 PM

Indian Team is situable for domestic cricket., International players are players selected through out the country., If India produces this type of International Players its better to play only domestic cricket.,

Sachin has been give title Master Blaster., and compared with Don Bradman., but he gets out to any bowler., even a debut bowler., There is no professionality in any of the player some what can rely on Rahul Dravid., Such kind of titles should be given to players like Adam Gilchrist., Ricky Pointing., they deserve the titles., they can be said professional players.,

Last and Final we cannot keep any hope on Indian Team in future.

Where is the talent?
by Rasesh Kumar on Apr 17, 2005 08:40 PM

I really dont understand that how a country of 100 crore of population cannot produce talent at the international level. Specially in cricket, the only game that has infrastructure, system and money. There has to be something seriously wrong with the SPORTS SYSTEM because of which people who can or may perform better are not able to come upto the stage at all. Look at our bench strength, Dinesh Mongia is the next best that we have got. Leave alone the top 11 player that get onto the field. The top 11 are consistent with their bad performance, it is just that to stay on they manage to play a good game or two after every few games. Which shows their attitude, stay under water and just come up to take breath so that we dont die. Sometimes when Indian team is playing international cricket it seems that we have fielded some college team in front of some other country's team.
I hope that a system comes up where it can be held accountable for whatever is done out there on the field. But thats what we Indians are bad at, preparing an accountable system. Hope I will see some good days for Indian cricket and other systems in my life.

Ciao

Ganguly is still the best
by Suddha Satta Ray on Apr 17, 2005 08:39 PM

So India loses another series ....
And by none other than Pakistan .. against whom we desperately want to win .... everytime we take the field ..

I dont understand why people blame Ganguly for all the defeats .. when India wins .. ganguly is great , when India loses Ganguly is "Good for nothing" .. speaks volumes really of our knowledge and sense!!
Ganguly is still the best captain India has ever produced... The numbers prove it ... Period.

Indian fans ..I know it hurts when India loses .. but please have failth in ganguly .. who knows, if Ganguly had played in the last two games, we might have atleast levelled the series ... He is a natutal leader and is full if new ideas .... Young talent performs better under him .... Also, he is "experienced as a captain" , so he is logically, the best person during crisis times....
He might have lost his batting touch ... but his Captaincy makes up for it. In course of time, he wil surely get back his touch and send the ball over the roof as he did in Tauton('99 WC).

Come back ganguly.
Team India needs you.
