Our gr8 Indian Cricket Team
by Santosh on Oct 30, 2004 02:42 PM

I agree with Mr Arvind on the points he stated about the drawbacks of the current Indian cricket team. Its fine that players cannot be in form all the year but atleast some of them should rise to occassion. Parthiv dropping the regulation catches of the batsmen in their single digits who later went on to cost us the match and now the series. Indian cricket team lacks planning, forget of application. Added is the management conflict of opinion. We need to study the opponents and plan accordingly before we step into field. Still nothing has gone out of reach......Comeon India Dikhado.........

Pathetic batting
by Austin on Oct 30, 2004 02:38 PM

It was the most pathetic performance, the way the batsmen were hitting for 4 & 6, it looked like they were chasing for not 543 runs but some 50 odd runs. They ran for 1 run as that was the last run required. Laxman, why he is still playing nobody knows, he acts as if he has forgotten his basics. This whole team didnt look like as if they are playing for one team, or is it something itching them or something going wrong with this whole setup. After the 3 months break they have not performed. When are they going to perform again. The best batting line up which we used to say, its a thing of the past. What more can anybody say more?

Our team is not able to play even 50 overs in test matches, so team should learn it first. if they are not able to stand even for 50 overs how team will win in one day matches.
if they failed we should cange nots of our team as pakistan cricket borad did in past.

Missing Names!
by Hemant on Oct 30, 2004 02:31 PM

I am greatly surprised to read that nobody "dares" to name Sachin and Dravid. The over hipped Indian greats have proved now and again that they are useless and lack guts. The media has been unduely praising them for their off the field activities. They should retire and concentrate on their modelling and hotel business.

Arvind, Apart from the Five points that you have mentioned I wanted to add one more to it.
The greatest weakness in Indian Team is 'Success'
Few success and they have removed thier stuff on thier shoulder, opened all gates to fight and said "Aa bael mujhe maar".
Where is the contingency plan?

Missing in action : Our Greats ?
by Dr.Ghate on Oct 30, 2004 02:18 PM

Dear Mr.Lavakare

I agree with your perfect assesment of the Indian "Greats (?)".

I just want to make one point,

Their batsmen stand away from the crease because they are sure of Parthiv ! Can our batsmen take such a risk with Gilly behind ?

Scared batsmen
by Bman on Oct 30, 2004 02:13 PM

It is high time , Tendulkar, Dravid, Laxman , Ganguly accepts responsibility for their dismal performance against Austlia in Test series and volunterliy retire from First Class matches . There are other talented players who are in the queue, from Ranji s & College Teams.
-Let the bad guys like Ad companies stop sponsering these palyers for 5 years.
-Lastly let the public boycott the products, in which these irresponsible so called Indian big wigs appear.
After these episodes , do we need another Test match in Mumbai and waste the precious time of Mumbaikars ? Think again and then go to the Cricket Stadium
