I suggest that indian team should be banned for playing cricket as they made mockery of cricket. When they r ppaid so much 30 - 35 lakhs, they should be morally responsible for the defeat. They mainly play for Dalmiya not for India

Couldn't agree more with Arvind
by Inderpal on Oct 30, 2004 03:30 PM

I just cannot help but agree with Arvind whole heartedly about the reasons for the Indian defeat.
We have the weakest bowling line-up among all the test playing nations. And when the batting fails too, it becomes a very pathetic sight for the Indian fans. Ofcourse, not to mention the fact that fielding and running between the wickets has let us down innumerable times too.

greats!

our great players -

Chopra - heard ganguly saying chopra has better technique....!! of what leaving the ball.....because whenever the ball is straight on the wickets either he is out clean bowled or LBW. he doesn't deserve to be in team.

Laxman - well enough is enough....you can live in dreams of 2001 innings and survive till 2004. how long are we going to wait before sacking very very sad performer.

Parthiv - did anybody say that he is a wicketkeeper?? consider him for batsman...because wicketkeeper he is definitely not!!

Yuvraj - Too much hype around too little performance. guess he needs to spend more time in nets rather than page 3 parties.

Ganguly - Cant we have a concept of non-playing captain in cricket. Ganguly would probably best fit in the profile and what more...we can take an additional batsman in his place in the team.

Five players who don't have any right to stay in the team...and pls its not an experience of one series...we have given them enough chances!!

Missing in Action: Our 'Greats'

It is saddening moment of the Indian Cricket History. The bunch of 11 jokers broken millions of cricket loving fans. What still saddening the fans is that they have let down without giving any fight. The scores they have put on the board could be achieved by any third class club cricketers. Even the lowest of the test team could have scored better. What went wrong? It is time to recall the old test players like Sadagopan Ramesh, SS Das. Also induct players like S Sriram, Dinesh Mongia, Wazim Zaffer and other upcoming good players. Form a seperate test team because we have got plenty of players who is par excellent than the current players compared with other teams. Lastly ask Saurav, Sachin, Dravid, VVS Laxman to participate in the local match so that they get form and compete with other teams with confidence. Their poor form is due to lack of practice match and their not participating in the local matches.

our greats
by Rakesh Kumar on Oct 30, 2004 02:49 PM

Someone should should let me know who is great in Indian cricket ? If Sachin the strokeless wonder is great then the world of cricket has far too many. Someone who has not managed to give India one test victory on his own can not be called great. It is about time that we get rid of these greats who are used to selfish cricket and runs on dead pitches . ( Remember the noise Sachin made when he remained not out on 194 due to innings declearation ) Please guys respect the feelings of the countrymen and go. We do not want to see Saurav dancing to the shortpitch balls nor do we want Sachin and Dravid to display their inability to play strokes.

While it is true we lost to a better side lets not forget the umpires role in deciding the series win for Australia
1)In the 1st test match 1st innings,Pathan who was batting very sensibly with Patel in the 1st innings was givien wrongly out caught behind when the ball was nowhere close to his bat.
2)In the 1st test match 2nd innings,Laxman was 3 foot in front of the stumps(a la Hayden) and still given LBW!!!!
3)In the 1st test match 2nd innings,Sehwag clearly had a big inside edge onto his pad.The verdict -Sehwag was out LBW!Plus he was fined 65% of his match fee for arguing with the umpire!!!!!!!!!!!!Is Sehwag a saint???????????????????????
4)In the 1st test match 2nd innings,Chopra was given LBW off Gillespie to a ball clearly going down leg side.
5)In the 3rd test match 1st innings of Australia, when they had collapsed from 310 for 4 to 335 for 7 and Zaheer was looking for "the kill",he had Clarke plumb middle stump LBW on 6.The LBW was so bloody plum even a blind man could see it.The verdict Not out and Cheater Clarke made 91 runs,Australia added around 100 more runs after this false decision.
And they say Aussies are very fair because "they walk"
