This is a good artical but we need to understand that every sport has people's backing. So if the game is not worth, people will eventually turn their backs to it. And there is where we all make mistakes. We put too much faith and time on the same poor performing bunch of so called 'best player' and make our way to disappointment. Who pays for the cricketer's salary anyways. Its common man that watch the sport. The fund is created through public money. It is not mandatory to watch. Its our wish.
Think over it. Every Indian should think on this before wasting entire day watching the match everytime.
I think they need a batting consultant (like Geoffrey Boycott) who can assess their weaknesses, loopholes in technique - teach them to be technically correct in Tests & be able to improvise brilliantly in the One-dayers (like Pakistanis - who have the best batting line-up for one dayers). Always remember that to succeed in one-dayers you need strength in batting & plenty of depth in batting right up to your last man.
May be your logic arises from the fact that Rediff pays you based on how many words [and not how much sense you make] of garbage you write in your columns!
I believe the author is absolutely right. Indians a undone because of their own lack of commitment nothing more than it. Give your best and best will come to u.
One of the few ruthless analysis I've came across these days. Such an unbiased, objective analysis will only help the cause of Indian cricket oops BCCI's team!!
With all due respect, this team plays far better than any other team in the world when it comes to facing the Aussies. If there is any team that can beat Australia, it is India. So don't give up faith just yet. Plus, remember, they tried their best. I have seen enough teams in the past where they were more interested in returning to the pavillion instead of facing the pacers (a certain Nayan Mongia comes to mind), and this team is a refreshing break from that kind of pathetic outfits.
