Failure

India shld let the older players retire and also make other changes in the team. firsty Laxman shld be replaced by Gambhir and Kaif by Ambati Rayudu. they are young players who can hit the ball over the top if need be.

India No longer a strong side
by ravishankar on Aug 22, 2004 08:09 AM

It seems like India had its time of glory and now its time for them to suffer.A team which had performed so well last year and the begining of 2004 are showing that they can be really bad.India being the number 2 side in the world is just a weak argument looking at the performance put by them.Australia is the number one side and it is the job of others to catch up.As for the match against Australia.Pray god for rain!!!!!!! There is no way that India will win.

Very disappointing performance. The blame starts with the captain. Bunch of chokers!

baffled by ganguly's captaincy
by Kirti on Aug 22, 2004 06:07 AM

couldnot understand the logic behind opting to bowl first. India has the history of being bad chasers as their recentform suggested in Sri Lanka. Also Virendra Sehwag who has always bowled beautifully and economically in ODIs for India was not given a single over. He has this knack of slowing things down when chips are down for India.

Something related to india's loss to pakistan
by janie on Aug 22, 2004 04:08 AM

Holy Mary....India's loss to pakistan today is mind-numbingly painful especially to someone like me who's an absolute cricket fanatic. This is literally india's second loss to pakistan in a row, the first one coming in the asia cup and altogether its so disheartening and weird.I seriously hope the indians dynamite the pakistanis atleast the next time they get to play them.Anywayz i just get this strong feeling that the indians are gonna win their next match against australia, qualify for the finals and eventually win the tournament. They're certainly a quality team jampacked with amazing players.Good luck to the indian team for the rest of the tournament!!!

Language of the Article.
by Manmeet Singh Brar on Aug 22, 2004 03:52 AM

The Language of this article is MOST disturbing. Whoever wrote this article seems to derive alot of pleasure by India's loss and has used very derogatory language against team India / India.

I would like to request Rediff to carefully examine the language and tone of its articles -- this article had a very provocative tone and does not go well with us Indians.

With Reget,

Manmeet.

Indian cricket team
by Hateli Khopdi on Aug 22, 2004 12:50 AM  | Hide replies

Indian cricket team is a very ordinary team without Sachin Tendulkar. There have been instances when Indian team has won without him, but there are far more instances when India got a nice beating when Sachin was not around. We should include some hockey players in our cricket team...maybe that will help. Ganguly - try playing more street cricket; you will know where you stand!
