Its high time to bring New Players
by sharon on Aug 22, 2004 04:30 PM

Seeing the performance of India, one wonders why the authorities do not change the players. As if we have no one else capable to play. Its high time new players are given the oppurtunity to prove their worth and the old ones to rest a while and come back when they are in form.

Suggestions to the BCCI
by Kotal on Aug 22, 2004 03:30 PM

Dont wait and watch. Make some sensible changes.

1.      Drop Sehwag, Yubaraj and Kaif immediately and bring Badani, Gambhir ans Sriram

2.      Release Rahul Dravid from wiket-keeping and bring in Dhoni

3.      Bring Ramesh Power also in the team.

4.      Dont pay the retainer to players rather give them bonus if they win otherwise they simply will get the match fee.

5.      Be ruthless about team selection do look at the distant past performances.

by vijay kumar on Aug 22, 2004 03:30 PM

When Warne can be given so many chances then why not jadeja be given a chance?
jadeja's presence will boost every body's performance.
Of course he his also match winner in any type of situations.

Media's double standards
by ---- on Aug 22, 2004 03:21 PM

The media always give some excuse or the other when
India loses in cricket. But in Olympics when we fail ,they use harsh language to describe the defeat.
How can they assume some of our participants as "medal hopes" such as Anju George. Then what about thecompetotors from other countries? Are they fools to let them win without a fight. Finally when they lose
the use words like"lets India dissappointed".But for cricketers even before a start of a tournament they are focussed as supermen. If you as the media why they would say the team reached the final.I don't understand what pleasure we are no2(By actual rankings
no5) in a game played by 8-9 countries. After each olympics the media goes crying out "A counry with a population of one billion cannot win a gold".Then I
would ask whether one billion are participating in the olympics.Only 78.The media cannot give support to that 78 and they talk of medal hopes.Since India is a democratic country the media gets the freedom to give
news however they want. That's where the Chinese differ asit is a communist country and censors the press and the media.

Pathetic display by India once again.
by Yash on Aug 22, 2004 03:08 PM

Once again India has put up a pathetic display in all departments of the game at Amstelveen during Videocon Holland Tri Nations series and carried on with the same poor form they displayed during Asia Cup. Watching it live from the stands was a great suffering for all of us. People had driven from UK, Germany, France, Belgium, Denmark and other parts of Europe to witness this great contest between the two great cricketing Nations and that never happened. Indians as usual lacked killer instinct and their innings once again folded up without a fight. We are tired of hearing that India has the best batting line up in the world. There is no point having best batting line up in the world that rarly fires and collectively collapses on most occasions. Some time I wonder.... Indian Cricketers who more often than hope, bring despair to their fans, do really deserve the star staus they enjoy in India? It is high time we Indians shift our support to other sports where heroes like Major Rajyawardhan Singh Rathore have done our Nation proud by winning a silver medal at the Athens Olympics 2004.

Chokers brought shame once again
by Vishal S. JAwanjal on Aug 22, 2004 02:40 PM

Its really difficult to digest to way Indian team is playing currently. Is it the same team which brought glory to nation when played against Pakistan and Australia. The current team gives the glimpses of confidance taken over by overconfidace, with none of the player knowing his responsibility. Its really shamefull on their part.

INDIANS AMSTER-DUMPED IN AMSTER
by C.V.VISWANATH on Aug 22, 2004 01:29 PM  | Hide replies

There are few suggestions I would like pot forward to The Indian Cricket Administrators and Selectors:

1) Our current Team is rudderless and idealess. So leadership Change with new emotions and ideas are required.
2) The leader should lead from the Front, if not alone with 2/3 partners . He is lacking . I am not for a moment saying he should emulate the Lackadaisical Pak Captain, but should take lessons from Attapattu. S.Lankan team is to be emulated - total commitment in bowling, fielding and batting and they do not give up till the last ball is bowled.

3) It is like UN permanent membership for some players - like Laxman, Dravid and Ganguly and Great so called Great Sachin. When he has elbow problem, why join the Touring Party. He should have been replaced by some Potential A member team.

4) Wheb the going is good and the run rate is aplenty, the Captain every time commits harakiri and then expects wonders from Jr. players.
5) Drasvid should be dropped and Kartik should come in as a regular W.Keeper for the next Game.

6) immdtly drop Yuvraj, Laxman and Kaif and bring in Doni, Gambir and Sriram . See the performance from youngsters .
Change is sinequa non.
