Alast we have genuine wicket keeper. Kumble & Co don't have feel the pain of seeing simplest of catches being dropped. Also respite from Mr. Parthivs poking, oops batting. Seeing his Ranji record Karthik seems to be a good batsman too. Not a poker like Parthiv.
I am suprised how Parthiv made it to the team and remained so long with other good wicket keeper like Thilak Naidu and Co left behind.
it is really astounding to see the team selection before making any postmartem on the present team. It is now clamoured that several non-performers got berth despite poor showing and the captain hmself in deep trouble. His woeful form with bat and immature decisions have brought shame to the nation. The defeats staring at their faces all the time and lack of potential in many players gives room to think for thorough revamping in the team. When oldies are always preferred despite no substantial contributions, why not players like Rohan b given a chance before heraches his superannuation. Out of form laxman, Dravid, Ganguly deserve some rest at the moment and so the lone fighter Sachin may be asked to lead a new blend of young players. If the BCCI thinks the two forthcoming tournaments are not that much important and so the present blend can be retained to augment the shame to the nation, why not consider a new team and lose our name and credibility. It is not that the preent team going to bring any big surprise in their apprach and fetch the trophies, it is prudent that we think of sending some players in waiting as well as past good performers like Jaddu & powar for the team.
I am kesavan.I am a great fan of cricket. i saw our team squad, i give my sugesstion not only mine all of people(everyone) says this, Place a wicketkeeper batsman is good move, but we should allow toplay in 11 on ODI matches. for what we take this kaif, useless fellow hw play only one match in england also that single series.still he didn't try to play well only showing, careless person. Then nehra also waste one i think,i didn't our crucial matches same time agarkar is good move, we should have two spinners in squad also nice. Then please leave ganguly, he lot of trouble in captainse. He is only beloning luck, how many times it work so only we get lot of failure every match he comment others what about his performance. so change our team captain first. give some rest to ganguly. we cann't waste a great player's game that super sixes.
hi, Good decision to rest parthiv and give kartik a go, kartik has perfomed well enough in the middle order. Parthiv has a problem with his batting position, as he opened successfully in u-19 tournaments but not very successfully in the middle of the order. Rohan should have not been omitted from the 15 so early. A toss up between him and kaif was required. Kaif always seems to fail if he needs to score fast. His best innings have come on fast starts where we had overs to spare natwest,his first century or even the 4th one dayer with pak. He struggles at no 7 if we have to score fast. I believe kaif could be replaced vijay
The selectors have done a good job by dropping Partiv Patel, but I feel Kaif should also have been dropped. The biggest surprise was the inclusion of Saurav Ganguly. I know that India has performed well under the leadership of Saurav Ganguly, but his below par non-consistent performance over the past 2 years has raised doubts over the selection procedure. He can very well be made the non-playing captain of the side, like in Davis Cup.
It is a good desicion that Zaheer Khan was dropped from the team because from Australia tour he face injuries. But he is our main bowler I wish him that he get back soon.
