Faisal, thanks for the indepth article and it churns my stomach to read the depths our former players have fallen too becasue of money and politics. Wright is the best man for the job. Anyone who understands cricket,e specially Asain cricket can see that, so why are Kapil and Vengsarkar making fools of themselves publicly. Have they really lost theor minds. Wright & Co. have been the best thing to happen to Indian Cricket and it saddens me to think that there are people out there that can't see it...I hope they are never part of the cricket administration!!!
3 Years back we were not winning at all any tournaments Today we are in most of the finals of the tournament we have played so far. How this dramatic transformation? - John Wright + Ganguly + Team Work = 11 Major Tournament Finals in last couple of years. Couple of miracalous Tournament Wins. Which Indian Coach has this record ? NONE!! Wright is the most dedicated Coach India has got in so many years. Nothing Suceeds like Success
John Wright is the greatest coach India has ever had. Useless Kapil Dev should just shut up and so should Vengsarkar and Gaekwad. They were all incompetent cricketers - Gaekwad home and away. Vengsarkar was incomeptent outside home except for Lord's. Kapil was an incompetent bowler playing for records in the 2nd half of his career and once in a while he'd chip in with the bat. He did win the 83 world cup for us, but he also singlehandedly lost the 87 semi final. They should all shut up - Ganguly and Wright have brought more glory than any Indian in 25 years. We should be proud of them. Our team would have won any of the past world cups with this performance - we were unfortunate to run into the greatest ODI team of all time in the final at J'burg
Take a player poll. If public comments are any indicator,we won't find any takers amongst the players for a change in the coaching and support team of Wright & Co. The players are not dumb. They have a lot to lose when they lose. So they will want the best and our board should just do it. The attitude of the ex Aussies is to support the support system of their team. Its a pity that our Indian 'greats' can't learn - even after their playing careers are done.
