What a state of afair
by Manoj k on Dec 01, 2010 11:45 PM  | Hide replies

We do not need Pak China or any other country as enemy...look within we are full of them...Telangana, Mani, Naga, Bihar, Khalistan...and what not...do not understand when this country will unify and stand as one

how can nationalism develop ? think about it.

THere can be unity if :

a) people of all states speak same lingo and have same culture

or

b) if the majority culture opens itself up to accepting all sub-cultures within the nation.

Instead all we find in India is -

a) too much emphasis on Urdu & Punjabi

b) more attempts to ameliorate PAKIz than our own countrymen from south or northeast.

As such nationalism to them is a FORCED unnatural feeling than a natural expression of self preservation, like how it is in USA or China.

Same applies for Telengana people also
by kumar on Dec 01, 2010 11:34 PM

I believe telengana is using the above logic now. Now they are asking for seperate state (not seperate country) by giving all the reasons which don;t make any sense. It is the time all parties need to meet together and declare that we don;t give any freedom to anyone. Since all states belong to india, there is no point in subdividing the existing states because of political purposes.

I guess, a federal govt model could do better and remove the regional and communal inequalities, which is in rise, with the economic growth in delhi and mumbai

What can you tell to a person who have been hiding in bihar to cross over to nepal. The days of red are gone and soon they will only be found in history books. Red army or whatever connected with communism is absolutely against any kind of culture and actually is meant for assimilation!! What a fool man is Mr Rajkumar. What we have seen in china and other places the culture is forbidden!! What kind of indigenous culture Mr Rajkumar talks about?? Hahaha If red army and communism would have ruled NE there would have been no culture. Mr Rajkumar proves that the liberation struggle is truly a cottage industry at best. These guys are extortionist and gunda's who have made a common folks life living hell. Such a contradictory mind coming from the head of UNLF a revolutionary front. Such a shame on the decrepit intellectual capacity of these leaders. I don't like corrupt Indian leaders too, they better be hanged in public, but man get a life. At least straighten your ideology before picking up arm. All the best.

Stop this bull*sh*t talk: Manipur is 100% India by culture
by Murli Devi on Dec 01, 2010 10:41 PM  | Hide replies

Even during Mahabharata period Arjuna married to Manipuri girl Ulupi. Majority of populaiton in Manipur are Hindu, they follow the same traditions what we Indians and largely east Indians follow. This man is trying to foold and not truthful. If he has to fight, he must fight against the Naga goondaism. But they can't, they don't have courage so they restore to Anti-India concept...citing any illogical reason. There is no public support for his organization too and this is why they stay inactive. Every Manipuri has to to come to western India for basic things. Why don't they do some constructive thing and develop things with help of central govt. assitance in Manipur? Corruption in Manipur is much higher than Bombay and Delhi! And this idiot is fooling us here? Not just Manipur but even Nepal should have been an Indian state by its culture, religion and roots. Thank our loose government who gifted it to China!

by Murli Devi on Dec 01, 2010 10:49 PM
Let me add more points. If Manipuris feel they are most neglected, did not get help from central govt., look towards Bihar and Gujarat. Instead of helping these states, central government knowingly created obstacles to them. What you get, they don't get. But they are building themselves on their own, own courage and will without help of central government! Then why can't you Manipuris? The fact is that the central government of India thought only for rich, Delhi, Bombay, Chennai, Bangalore, influenced by Punjabis who eat most of the subsidies, royalties and loans of government funds, enjoy highest number of central supports and institutions and introduced the culture of bribing in this nation. Still neglected states like Guajarat, Bihar, MP are rising on their own. See Gujarat..it is no. 1 state of India but your PM sitting in Delhi pleaded with USA to not get him Visa! Gujarat made USA withing Gujarat! Sameway Bihar..what kind of humiliation, bias, neglect it has not faced..but see today..it is the leader, setting example to entire India. Why can't then Manipuris?

Murli Devi, where is this "Bombay" on the map of India? Can you enlighten me ?Before giving sermons to others try to inculcate the habit of respecting others culture and languages. There is no question of sidng with rebel Manipuri leader but the attitude of people like you does contribute in creating hatred sowing the seeds of dessention in the mind of affected people.

India - biggest, historic, social experiment of unit in diversity
by Shri Hegde on Dec 01, 2010 08:58 PM  | Hide replies

Nowhere in the world and history of the world so much of diversity lived under one country/state. By design or destiny, it's happening. We are living this unbelievable experiment. There is only one factor which binds us - religion. The day we loose that bonding power, we are going to disintegrate.

india is doing gr8 disservice to the all the ethnic people by crushing everyone's aspirations. Best way it is give autonomy to all the states like US/Canada. Just promoting Hindi/Sanskrit and crushing the other languages under nationality is a big injustice.
