The stocks of petrol will not lost long. Let us invent the vehicles run other than petrol/diesel and preserve the petrol and gas at least to some extent. Battery/hydro/solar are the alternates for petrol cars/vehicles. Let R&D Department of GOI design such vehicles on war footing to easen the burden of petrol. SUBBA RAO

Brilliant idea! Why not invent a bio-gas driven car, tell the population to eat plenty of "mooli". The gas produced by eating mooli can be used to propell the cars!! Totally environment friendly!! What a brilliant idea sirji!!!
There is no guaranty that you get complete petrol what you pay for may be 10 to 30 % less then what meter is showing.
Also i found many people facing water mixed up with petrol in Delhi. I have seen many people getting there bike petrol tank clean to get rid of water in petrol.
Thing is East or West India & Indian are Best (?).

People in Britain earn in pounds and also spend in pounds. Like wis e in USA they earn and spend in dollars. Hence if we see people in Uk spend roughly 1.2 pounds. when will it cost 1.2 rs in India.
In the 2nd World War Hitler's Nazis invented Petrol from Coal. The technowlogy is with the erstwhile Nazis. I wonder why the present day Scientists could not find out that technology.
The article is really stupid, does not take into account purchasing power. Some one in UK getting GBP 1000 and someone getting Rs 75k in India are not the same, the latter will have much better lifestyle. Rediff should stop publishing stupid articles.

Yes, I totally agree.
eg. Per capita income of Sweden is $36,502 and that of India is $1,176. So the fact is 100 Rs. in India is like 3 rupees for them. So the petrol price in Sweden is 3 Rs. / Liter effectively.
