European countries are largely welfare countries unlike India. Majority of medical, food & educational expenses borne by Govt. So the high taxes are acceptable.

Not sure why the petrol prices are taken in Indian currency for comparison, also kindly compare the petrol prices to the Per Capita income and you will get real picture.

Gulf countries can think of selling oil and buy some other products.Whereas India has enough water but we cant sell it to other countries because of our own population.So we have to export our knowledge to other countries.

How come the oil companies in India suffer losses even after charging rs 63 per liter??? when both China and US petrol prices are much lower than India.

Stupid over regulated Indian oil market :(

Not in Petrol dude... NO SUBSIDY in Petrol! Its market regulated.

We pay about 52% taxes on fuel. God help us.
