Because it FLAMED other Looting Companies.
Does anyone keeping records how many Maruti Fatalities happening each year?
How many GMs facing box-bump each year?
How many Toyotas facing fire each year?

Why NANO is in the NEWS?
Because it is NEWS in itself...POSITIVE as well as NEGAIVE....there is POFIT either way.

Shame on the Competitors !!!!!

Oomshik Tooshik,

You can't hide your southie tongue (plz don't take it as a racial comment) behind your Jap sounding name.
By the way, it is 'Ashok Leyland' and not 'Ashoka Leyland'.
Be an Indian first and then an auto fan.

In any moving vehicle, air cools a working engine, despite efficient coolants. With increasing conditions of environmental heating, it is logical that Nano car engine placement be re-visited. A TATA-fan. rcyashroy

Some thing Fishy
by Bik on Apr 20, 2010 04:55 AM  | Hide replies

Who is reporting these incidents on TATA nano. How come there were never a report on any other Brand in India before, does it mean all cars have been operating in India are Super Cars which never had issues.

Looks like someone is taking Inspiration from USA who are trying to discredit TOYOTA motors to improve sales of local brands.

In our case its reverse looks like someone like GM motors(under new management recently) are using same tactics funnily to discredit a local brand.

Bik - I think you do not read enough. Reports do come in on all brands. But please get this into your head - cars going up in flames is not just another report. It is something serious. And just see the behaviour of the Tatas. Only 5 in 30,000 have caught fire. This is an insensitive response. Such a response in US would have led to Tatas being sued. 5 did catch fire and we will never know how many cars missed going up in flames by a couple of seconds.

Sriram bhai.. three Honda Citys had got fire in the first year itself. Honda did not even acknowledge the accident!

Maruti Swifts have caught fire.

Toyota accidents costed 250 lives before they agreed to recall.

Understand these facts before holding Tata irresponsible

in their quest to live up to their stupidity, they came up with a 1.25lac priced rs. 1lc car - which too was causing them to bleed with losses. Just buy a reliable second-hand japanese made and trusted MARUTI ALTO.

My sufferings with TATA Cars
by Prakasha kashyn on Apr 19, 2010 10:32 PM  | Hide replies

I am writing this message to all those prospective buyers of Cars to go through my experience with a TATA Car. I had a Indigo Dicor Purchased from a TATA Car dealer during May-2007. I did enjoy the Car and had a trouble free motoring till the Vehicle Clocked 35,000 Kms.From that point of time the vehicle developed all sorts of problems and I was totally upset with Vehicle. The worst things happened when I sent the Vehicle for 70,000 Kms to Concorde. They took one month time to set right the problems and could not do any thing. The vehicle carried an extended warranty till May-2010 but TATA Motors did not hear any of requests to recall the vehicle and give me a replacement vehicle in the same range for which I was prepared to bear the normal depreciation for my Indigo Dicor.
You can check the genuinenes of my above complaints with Concorde Motors on Mysore Road Bangalore or mail me to know more about problems faced with TATA Cars.

Thats about 70 kms per day. It is very normal if you stay 20-25 kms away from your work or have a marketing / sales / dealership type of a career.

Abhi Bhat, that is the stupidest comparison ever. Those people are bitten while the sharks are in the wild so asking your last question is kind of stupid. TATA is saying that there were 5 that caught fire while being driven, so it is okay to drive. The condition of comparison must stay the same. Its just logic.

You could have rather said, if only 5 people are bitten by sharks, then why invest so much money into shark deterence equipment.

Probability and risk
by ullasamga utsahamga on Apr 19, 2010 07:42 PM

"According to Tata Motors, only five cars out of the 30,000 Nanos on the road were reported to have developed problems. Of these only two cars were completely burnt. The other three cars were repaired and given back to the owners."

These guys do not understand that the risk is high, even though the probability is low.
