Except very few guys, rest are complete waste in the rebel leaque. It going to flop in big way, if they are not able to find really young guns. Most of the international players are above 30, so 20-20 wont suit their game.

when , we are not getting audience for teh challengers trophy between india , india a and india b, then how zee will break even ?

2. Schedule and Venue
a. The proposed ICL dates clashes with the packed indian season where india will play with Pakistan, Australia and other tournaments. People will watch official cricket or thrown out/old cricketers/young novices??
b. ICL has not found any suitable ground to hold thier league. Any unpopular ground or city will not help their cause. How many grounds they are looking for?? Their league will be concentrated to only 1-2 cities. This will fail to draw crowds. Initially some people may come, but how many matches they will watch.
c. Will they get same support from sponsors, which official cricket gets? How long they will spend money from their pocket to run the league??

Still Kapil Dev and Subhash Chandra still think ICL will be a success%u2026 this will remain as a sweet dream only.

Subhash chandra opened a Sports channel with lot of dreams. those were not fulfilled. He lost all battles with other TV channels...and now in frustration he has initiated this step...and also he must have something to show in his TV channels. This much hyped Show will turn into flop show...why??

1. Team composition will be of old Warhorses and young players....
a. Old players will never going to give their 100 % ( They will not dive in the field, they will not bowl at their full, they will not run hard for extra run...)
b.They are here for money... they will be least bothered about their performance... ICL will not dare to throw them out for their performance
c. And above all what will motivate them.... their main aim is to earn some extra money at the twilight of their career.
d. Even if young Indian players have signed... "Whether they have done anything wrong" this will always remain in the back of their mind. With this mindset I doubt they can perform.
e. What will happen to an average state side Indian player if he fails to perform? Will ICL persists with him coz ..He has a contract of 3 Years.
f. What will he do for 10-11 month in a year? He cannot play any other BCCI sponsored cricket... They will lose even jobs with MNCs or public sector Units as they will be not eligible to play for their companies anymore.
g. What will happen if happen if BCCI increase the match fees and yearly contract money for first class cricketers in India? After all BCCI is a rich

Cricket is nobody's property.....Today Subhash C started cricket league... Tomorrow Reliance will start..they will have their own TV channel to Broadcast... Bharti will Start... TaTA will start...Birla ...and Infosys and Wipro too will jump in the field... coz holding cricket league will be a profitable business and than everybody including underworld will have their own cricket league.. what will then BCCI do?? May be after 10 yrs. i will run my own cricket league with Dhoni, Yuvraj, etc.

India should be benefitted.
by hiral joshi on Aug 21, 2007 10:08 AM

I am glad to see the monopoly of BCCI is ending and now we shall have competition to BCCI. Since last few years BCCI has become a farce. Series of shameful blunders and utter arrogance became symbol of BCCI. I wish ICL handle cricket as a game and work with professional approach but at the same time they must contribute to strengthen Indian Cricket and India should be benefitted most. I hope Kapil and other legendary Indian cricketers in ICL ensure this. I hope not to see stupids like Pawar, Laloo etc as president of sports Body like ICL.

India should give importance to Kapil Dev than Pawar
by Carti Rengasamy on Aug 21, 2007 10:00 AM  | Hide replies

We want the performers should be given first place. But in the BCCI, only recommendations are given first place.

Kapil Dev was the winning captain in 1983. So proper respect and importance should be given to him than our politician cum BCCI chairman, Sharath Pawar. We want only young blood like Kapil.

With all due respect to Kapil and for what he has done for India. However, he/ICL should join hands with BCCI and do something to increase the standards of Indian Ranji Trophy and other tournaments. There is plenty of cricket and there are enough oppurtunities for the cricketers to show their talents during RANJI season. Starting a competitor league will not serve the purpose. Its just a money making machine. By the way Kapil was heading the board to enhance the level of pitches across India. What did he do about that? Goes to show that everyone is here to make money.

Why the ICL?
by shubhendu singh on Aug 21, 2007 09:44 AM  | Hide replies

Well i just reading the news from last 3-4 months,Zee is comming with the new idea,Zee has announced about the ICL concept,Kapil is the Director and all and all.
I just want to say you that ICL is not just a matter but why the ICL is comming is a matter.
First of all the players are joining with ICL generally the two kind of players 1.Who has just retired from the international cricket and want to make more money at their end.
2.Who has just fed up by their respective boards and don't see their future in international cricket or want to show their boards that if you will not give me chance i have another option.
But i think both these issues should have been sorted out from the boards only but that would not happen.
I think BCCI should have taken the decision in the very first day when ZEE has introduced all this. They should have given them some right for telecast for 20/20 from india or any other option that is comming now should have taken much earlier from BCCI only.
But what BCCI think is they are the god of cricket in this country, they can't control cricket any more in india.
I am just waiting for what decision ICC will take.
any thing left mates...

Good luck to ICL.

I dont see a great role of coach for a cricket team. And team India has proven it many times. They played dismal cricket while Greg Chappel was coach, again they played great cricket without coach in England recently.
