single lara vs whole team
by Hari Shanker on Aug 21, 2007 12:46 AM

The good way of competioon is to sum up the amount of money paid to each player on other side....because it equates money ....that equates to ICL which is money game.....so if Lara is playing in the team...may be he should be the only player playing against any team because he is paid high....and so lara#s teams money will be equal to opposite 11 players....this creates good players on other sides playing with lara...hehee

It's abright idea.Anyone opposing it should look back in history. What kerry packer did ? He made cricket more popular that all country boards put to gether?
Why should'nt the players make money?Only software engineers?
It'll only help to spread cricket.
Iam sure Kapil Dev is doing the job of his lifetime. If he can establish it.Then it'll be his life time achievement No2.

Guys,

All play cricket first as a carrer and for money. Country is important, when called for representations. There are players, who wanted to play for India, with all qualifications, but were not given chance. For them cricket is career and livlihood. You can expect them to do something else all of a sudden.

Secondly, who has authorised BCCI as the official cricket representation for India. Remember not Govt. of India. There is no control or regulations or laws in BCCI which can be challenged in High Court or Supreme Court. Hence, who is BCCI? Do we Indian approved the body, and is it under Indian Govt. and Indian constitution? Legally no one can stop BCCI or ICL.

Someone commented here, that ICL if for money. True, my dear friends, it is all for money. Proffesionalism is all for money, but no one is idiot to keep country behind money. Even army is a proffesional institution. People get salary not money for their charity. No organisation can effective if it is not proffesional. But that does not mean, that people will tamper outcome of game for money as they proffesional. Proffesionalism is a temparament, not a temptation. English county cricket has survived for so long and producing good cricketers only because of proffesionalism.

Who will watch cricket? Man you will be bunking your office or college is there is an interesting match. Wait for another 2 year, you will see Sachin, Saurav and Rahul playing in ICL. If you make the amount in one year, what you are g

Even bcci treat them as pvt body, considers them above Indian laws and as per them, team is not representing India but it%u2019s bcci team. So, we shud promote icl and presurise govt to recognize icl team as Indian team and end monopoly of bcci. Or else nationalise bcci and get rid bcci of all politicians.

ICL - Good for Indian Cricket and Cricket Lovers
by Juzer H on Aug 21, 2007 12:27 AM

ICL will be good Indian Cricket.

This will break the monopoly of few crooks controlling the game and playing mockery with the emotions of millions of cricket fans.

Breaking the monopoly and pumping more money in the game will definitely attract more talent, and India will soon have a team that will be the best in the world.

Good luck India!

wen the whole concept is based on "MONEY"... results of the matches wud also b decided by "MONEY"... bcoz, the players who've joined the ICL, are solely becoz of "MONEY", it is utter shameful act... ZEE group is just ruining cricket & make billions of rupees... isn't it a farce? My question to Kapil.... "how can u improvize cricket being in ICL & nt in National Cricket Academy?"
we respect u "kapil as a player"... bt wht u r doin is wrong... plz. dun let that respect go...

Opportunity to play more cricket and earn more money will definitely improve the standard of cricket in India.

If you are thinking any of the cricketers are playing only for the pride and not for money, then I am afraid my friend 'you are wrong'!

How ICL is going to generate public interest in these matches which may have each team having players from more than one country... We are used to the fights between country Vs country , state vs state..club Vs club ...

Christianity and Islam - hey guys what's cooking up. Every religion has its plus n minus. So dont criticise any religion. There is a proverb in ENGLISH - 'you have every right and liberty to revolve ur walking stick around you. But remember, ur liberty ENDS where my nose begins'. Talk about cricket or just shut ur mouths (rather keep ur fingers away from keyboard). with luv, Anand (Hindu)

kudos to icl

the concept of ICL is very good. But i have one question and i am hoping that someone would clear it to me ..
How do the national players get to play for the country through ICL ?? because the bcci has clearly cut off itself from icl and bcci is the only body that selects players for Team India ?

Mridul:
Definitely ICL cannot be pathway to International cricket. Infact One who plays ICL is almost making sure that he will never play for his country as BCCI will never select him for India, so do other boards as well.

But what do players like Dinesh Mongia do?. He has been denied place in Indian team despite good performances and players like Agarkar have been given chances at top level despite being listless. So, to earn money (ICL is paying very very handful of money) players have reverted to ICL.

I think such thing was needed. I know ICL cannot do much if all boards restricts their players from ICL, but such thing was needed at most. What BCCI has done over years to improve the status of Indian Domestic Cricket?. To say the least they haven't done anything convincing so far.
