Our celebrations were over the top as though we won 100 gold medals. I completely endorse felicitating Sakshi & Sindhu as they have brought laurels to the country where gender bias is rampant & female infanticide encouraged, our women have truly done us proud. But the reality is we are nowhere on the sporting map hence there will be a tendency to have these exaggerated celebrations. I hope such victories can spur our youth to focus on sport especially if they have the talent. I hope someone like Dipa Karmakar & Dattu Bhokanal get similar gifts though they did not win medals but went on to represent the country creditably.

1) Indians should definitely feel ashamed that only their Gir1s have Won 2 Medals (1 Bronze & 1 Silver) and Yes - We are definitely celebrating it far too much than required.

Yes Indian Athletes have Never performed and Won anything Significant upto their expectations (Much like Indian overhyped Cricket Team).

2) England also should be Equally ashamed as India in Olympics, as they have Not yet Won a 50 Over World Cup in Cricket (England have always been very poor in One Day International Cricket). England have Lost All of their World Cup Finals and ended up as the Losing finalists.

In any form of Sport - Olympics, Cricket, Chess or any other sport in General - Victory & Defeat are both a Part & Parcel of the game.

On some days we Win, if the Opponent is Stronger than us then we will definitely lose.

In India's case - Most of the time our Enemies are Far Greater in Skill & Strength hence Indians Lose more often than not and we have over The Generations accepted Mediocrity & Defeat rather easily in most of the fields.

10 crores paid to silver medalist from tax payers money
by Vishal Shetty on Aug 25, 2016 01:45 AM

10 crores paid to silver medalist from tax payers money to get votes. Someone should file a case against the govt. How can they give 10 crores. USA is offering 16lacs for gold. 10 crores is too much.

UK is a first world country. Are you trying to say that it robbed a third world country to become first world. After World War II they had lost everything, were bombed out by Germany yet managed to develop & move ahead. On the contrary we have slid into a mess & now have become touchy about small things.

2 medals for India after 13 days !!

BOTH MEDALS WON BY GIRLS !!

MEN found to be uselesss(naalayak) in the male dominated indian society !!

India's image in front of the world will improve with this example showing that India is inching towards gender equality, like in developed countries.
