Could not understand why Mr. Sehwag is so unhappy with Morgan comments. I think Mr. Morgan is dear right. We as a nation should be ashamed of our performance at Rio. Why to hide the fact Mr. Sehwag?

Agreed in fact celebrating like we are for Silver and Bronze will only make future athletes think that even Bronze is enough to live one life and they will never aim for the Gold. We should understand that after reaching the finals we should HAVE THE GOLD and should never satisfy with the Silver. It should be GOLD or NO MEDAL AT ALL. We should aim and achieve the BEST as their is nothing called 2nd Best....

The biggest challenge is the minute they win a Silver or Bronze we make them feel like Stars, give lots of gifts away and the next Olympics they don't even qualify....They get comfortable and relax for life....

Yes,yes, Sehwag was talking about a tiny detail while ignoring the horrid larger picture about Indian sport !
Yes, we all need excuses to shield our complexes, especially when we are stuxpid enough to express such complexes in public fora as Sehwag has done !

at least 1.2 many cricket loving countries billion people of india know sehwag. this much population is not 0.1 or 1 or even 10 % . It is much higher.
Great Britain won 27 Gold 23 silver and 17 bronze medals. Had Mr. Morgan been from any of those country which could not win a single medal in spite of huge participation, it would matter differently. Officials appeared in Times Now television debate seemed quiet satisfied with the visit at Rio.
Britisher do not know how to respect others. They have looted india for 190 years. If we are not getting medals, it is only because of them. Shame on you me pier

The Britishers did loot the Indian sub continent. And Indians have little to thank them for in the overall context. But their loot was no match for the gigantic extent of looting of meek commoners done over 2 millennia before them by hyndu and muxlim kings !

Hyndu kings were different from Muxlim kings in looting their subjects and perpetuating the feudal system ?
Really ?
Hyndu kings were different from Muxlim kings in causing landlessness for the big majority of commoners while keeping all or most of the land with a tiny minority ?

Instead of saying I am unaware of history and leaving it there (in the hope that your own knowledge of history will not be examined), can you be brave enough to say why I am wrong in my statement ?

We are independent now by 70 years. Enough time to regain a nations glory. For how many more years we would blame the British. Its high time to stand before the mirror.
An average Indian is definitely unhappy at our performance in the Olympics in General and Rio Olympics in particular. Earlier there was no financial support for the athletes by the Government for their preparation. Now times have changed .The Government spend crores on their training and prepartions.Yet there are just two medals to show.
But look at the way the state governments vying with each other to reward the winners in cash and kind. No other country does this and starngely no one has any objection to this lavish show.
If someone considering Morgans comments as 'mocking" so be it.

We need even more investments and less meddling by the babus. For a start we need to stop the culture of politicians heading sports organisations. Countries like Britain spend a lot more. That is why they are successful in becoming no. 2 on the medals list. From that viewpoint the fact that we managed two medals, and closely lost in several cases is not so bad. So in a way Morgan is both right and wrong.
