Can't expect medals to flow in with such pathetic importance given to training, financial & emotional well being of our selected athletes. What is needed is a long term plan to carch them young and nurture their talent over a decade so they can compete with a level playing field.
Firstly we lack the physique and most importantly we lack honesty. People very often get into the teams by influence and our administrators are queuing up to get to Olympics rather than allowing the sports persons to do so. We can never do well in any sport
... in fact these days, even breakfast on Sundays is ordered via a mobile app. If one cannot do some physical activity to go to eat, what are the chances of doing the same for some exercise ?
The corrupted politicians and corruption are the major factors for bad performance of India in Olympic. Interference of politicians in selection of players and athletes and also favoring their own peoples. India will never get any medal till the eradication of corruption in the country. I do not when it will be possible.
1. Olympic should have reservation based on population. Obviously we will get one sixth medals. That should be collected by our sports minister, Vijay Goel and IOC chief. 2. Our men team shall compete with women team of world. You can understand our all timings of national records of men matches with world women records. 3.Make the accountability for every win and lose from the top.
very true. the author has hit the nail on the head. Average Middle-class Parents want their children to study hard for a well paying job even now. No question of adopting sports as a career even for children from well-to-do middle class families, except cricket.
