Good Analysis
by James Ponraj on Aug 17, 2016 10:22 AM  | Hide replies

I Agree with the Author of the article. We are still hoping that our Sports persons will gather the medals. We have to re-think our attitude towards physical work and re-orient our culture that needs to appreciate our own - physical work and support sports oriented education and professions.

India's poor performance at the Olympics.
by MangeswaraSastryB on Aug 17, 2016 10:19 AM

The main reason is we Indians lack a sports culture in our day to day life. Brazil as a nation went through so many hassles prior to 05th Aug that made world highly doubtful of the Olympics taking place at all. In spite of all that they managed to open the show for the entire world to enjoy. It is because they love sporting activity and did not allow any issue to stop it. No govt ministers at all were seen any where except for their President who too was only there as an Acting President. Can we imagine such an event here?

SUPPORT
by Shilpa Mehta on Aug 17, 2016 10:17 AM

And now we can still hope at least a bronze fom from Sindhu . Shrikant & Narsingh Yadav .

WE ALL MUST SUPPORT OUR PLAYERS , NO MATTER WHETHER THEY BRING MEDAL OR NOT . REPRESENTING YOUR COUNTRY IN OLYMPICS & REACHING FINALS / SEMIFINALS , ITSELF IS NOT A SMALL ACHIEVEMENT - - -

Every sportsperson has to put lot lots of efforts to reach Olympic level .

Based on a Proverb: During rainy seasons all beggars during nights sit together and chat/discuss towards construction of a shelter for them.
Reg sports development it is being discussed/commented over a period of 40/50 years as has been commented earlier to this comment.

Author has done excellent analysis of the real issue. I fully agree with the author. We always have habit of blaming Government and politicians/bureaucrats for every melody.

Idea for Olympic medals
by muthuraj ramaswamy on Aug 17, 2016 09:51 AM  | Hide replies

1. Olympic should have reservation based on population. Obviously we will get one sixth medals. That should be collected by our sports minister, Vijay Goel and IOC chief.
2. Our men team shall compete with women team of world. You can understand our all timings of national records of men matches with world women records.
3.Make the accountability for every win and lose from the top.

Make administratives accountable and not the athletes
by Gasper Peenth on Aug 17, 2016 09:38 AM

First of all, kudos for the guys who really done well. It appears though we have the best talent but proper updated latest techniques and encouragement at every levels of training is lacking. We are far from basic facilities and required food. it is observed that athletes have to run around for the administrative work and babus make them to run around them to show their babugiri.
In one word, sack all the babus and politicians from the administration and appoint all the ex athletes for the top jobs. Run the sports body inculding hockey, foot ball and other games like badminton association. Make the administrative people accountable and not the athletes.
