This is an absolute non sense to make poll on everything and make a news. You rediff guys please focus on some positive issues going on in the country.
Should be sportperson like P.T. Usha, Dhanraj Pillay, Milkha Singh, Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore, Ajit Pal etc. who played in difficult situations for country when money not involved unlike in Rich Game Cricket. Salman khan as a actor not a single penny contribution to indian sports rather than Dirt IPL. Only a true sports men/women inspires the athelets to strike for medals for country.
Yes, A country of 150 crore population including illegal-legal migrants which can not produce 15 medallists duly deserves a popular figure rather than a athlete.

Salman khan is Absolutely not a good choice for this post. Instead, it should have been given to other legends like sachin or any other atheletes who have sacrified for country . what salman contributed to country

This is not meant to be a credit to the individual. The role is meant to popularise the sport or event, draw attention of more people who are otherwise not into it. So, it is not about recognising a sports person. People should use this yardstick to compare and see where they stand and how much they can contribute
