Apathy of Indian Officials
by anand p on Oct 04, 2014 05:21 PM

There is no question of questioning a sportsman about his / her sportsmanship at all. This is merely the apathy of our idiotic unwanted lot of officials accompanying the teams for joy trip. If they have no capability to raise their voice on our behalf, let them sit at home. Anyway, action to be initiated against those officials and they should also be banned even from going near any team in future.

Did boxer Sarita really show lack of sportsmanship?

Not at all!

Poor woman actually showed how badly truly patriotic North Eastern Indians are treated wherever they go!

Our North Eastern compatriots deserve more love and respect from us because they have contributed infinitely more to India than muslin people who only know to complain and beg all the time without contributing anything to India except being an unbearable burden on India!

Fault at both ends
by Gypsy on Oct 04, 2014 01:44 PM

Whatever happened to her was wrong, totally wrong. Protest was must, from both her & Indian authorities but what she did at podium was also wrong. She must be aware that this can end her career if ban is imposed on her & later asking for unconditional apology made her & our nation to look down.

Sportsman spirit?
by Ramanath Babu on Oct 04, 2014 11:57 AM

If your opponent is better than you, you will gracefully accept the defeat and that is sportsmanship. In this case, she was better than her opponent and it is the judges who showed non-sportsman spirit. If sarita was defeated squarely and fairly, she should not have created the scene during medal distribution ceremony. She is a victim and they are trying to make her culprit. A sportsperson devote all his/her energy in preparation for this kind of mega event, for years. It is her 4 years 'tapasya' that went in vein because of the whims and fancies of the judges. Make them answerable for the crime they committed. If an iota of self-respect is left in Mrs. Park, she should also return her medal, saying I am not eligible for this. Remember, today it was SArita who was at the receiving end, tomorrow it could be YOU, Mrs. Park, when venue changes.

Did boxer Sarita really showed lack of sportsmanship?

Poor Sarita how distressed she was at being cheated out of a sure win! And not one official stood by her all through her ordeal. She was completely distraught emotionally and even if she has done something that can be construed as wrong her emotional state condones it all! Did any of the Indian officials stand by her even after the coach clearly stated that the match was pre-decided in favour of the korean boxer.

But what about the Koreans who can only be termed as cheats! And the indian officials little said about them the better! No wonder the indian athletes are treated with complete disdain everywhere.

I fully agree and Sarita did the right thing.
Our officials , as they normally are, are real hopeless buggers.
Congrats Sarita on standing tall. Keep it up.
