Agreed. You need guts to oppose the biased decisions.
The question of sportsmanship arises only in a sporting event, not on a crime scene.
What happened on that day was not sport.
It cannot by any stretch of imagination be called an international sporting event.
It was a criminal case of cheating; a pre-meditated crime, in full international public glare, on international TV, in violation of law, rules, codes of conduct, and sporting spirit. It was also a tragic betrayal of trust. Done with a "you-cant-do-a-thing" attitude.
Sportsman sprit is deseatist mindset, those espousing for it are also of weak mind. She was right if she was convinced of criminal acts of judges and organisers in denial of her due.
While Sarita was right to protest the injustice meted out to her and refuse the bronze medal awarded to her on the podium, she was wrong in walking over to the Korean boxer and putting the bronze medal around her neck. Whatever the injustice and emotions involved, her actions were an insult to the Korean boxer who was not to blame for what had ahppened during the match. If Sarita so wanted, she could have put her bronze medal around the one of the cheating judges' neck or refused to attend the victory ceremony altogether. As a proud Indian, I felt bad and cheated by what happened to Sarita in the ring but was embarrassed by what she did to the Korean boxer. The Korean boxer was graceful in accepting what Sarita did and even trying to give her the medal back later. How would Sarita feel if the roles were reversed? I hope my fellow Indians will understand what I am saying here and not indulge in a verbal fight about this.

Vinil, I agree with every word of you. I see injustice done to Sarita but she OVER REACTED...! She didn't handle the situation very well. I would say everyone should learn from Tendulkar in this department. He was given out so many times when he actually was not. The Sachin (and whole country) felt the injustice done. But he would calmly walk out. That is sportsmanship of top order.
I support her as she individually shown courage to fight against the injustices to her while it is the responsibility of the officials of sport from India to stand up with her insted of that they ran away Mr. Modi ji please bring Acche din in sport administration of India
ITS RIGHT THING SHE DID. IF SHE GIVES WRONG MESSAGE TO YOUNGSTER THEN WILL THE WRONG JUDGES GAVE RIGHT DIRECTION? AS THE JUDGEMENT WAS WRONG, SHE DID CORRECTLY.
