If any sportsperson deserves "Bharat Ratna", it is Viswanathan Anand first. Two things have kept Anand back. First, Cricket is the only glamour in India and second he is far from Delhi & Mumbai. In terms of talent, Anand undoubtedly comes first and foremost.
Please don't compare Sachin with Viswathan Anand Sachin is a world champion within the 5 countries which play cricket and Anand is actual world champion

why? Because only 10 countries can play cricket... It needs more physical and most important mental strength to play cricket unlike other sports.

Mental strength? Physical strength? Man.. where are you getting these facts? Chess requires 10,000x more mental strength than cricket. Football requires 10x more stamina than cricket. Chess requires physical FITNESS, quoting the old sayin A sound mind in a sound body'.

cricket is sluggish sports as compared to football, tennis.. cricket lacks competition as its mostly played by weak and corrupt sporting nations like india, pakistan, sri-lanka, bangladesh..

This is my feeling. Rather than comparing sports, we should think who had represented what for INDIA. That's the prime thing. Whichever sports personality we talk about, they have their place for our Nations standing. So lets cheer our sports Icons. They need best wishes, prayers and moral and mental strength from you. Which will help them to be physically fit and attacking in their area of sports and bring name to our nation.
I am sorry if anybody is hurt, but we need to give all sports equal importance then only it will be all round sports development in the country.
Sports means wins and lose will always be there but lets boost their morale.

Not absolutely true. Two games are different, one is individual and other is team. In world championship Anand has to play with one opponent only but in CKT batsman has to play against so many teams and bowlers. In final there is one match for CKT but several games are there in chess, to get another chance. Physical fitness, power eyesight and age is main factor in CKT but not in chess. Ckt is a one ball game but chess is not a one move game. Atmosphere, crowd, noise, sleazing are the factors against a batsman but these are not in chess. Performance of batsman also depends on Umpires wrong decision but not in chess.

chess is far more competitive as it's played in 157 countries as compared to dozen countries playing cricket.. cricket is mostly played by weak and corrupt sporting nations like india, pakistan, sri-lanka, bangladesh.. thats why most cricket matches are fixed... chess requires not only genius brain but physical fitness as well..

Dhanraj Pillay....the mercurial hockey legend of our times is also precious.....only Indian player played in four Olympics,four World Cups....recipient of Rajiv Gandhi khel ratna, Arjuna award, Padam Shree....Field hockey is more hard to play / learn....field hockey players require fast dribbling, quickness of position change, coordination, focus / quick reflexes and excellent eye coordination as well....a forward / midfielder runs more than 9kms (5 miles) in a 70 minute game...even doing commentary and umpiring is also difficult...very very quick decisions required.....70 minutes of field hockey is more tireful than full day cricket.

We have to take the competitive nature in the game. With that chess is far more superior to cricket.
