Does this qualify for a bharat ratna or a rajya sabha seat? Wishing you all the best.

And do a Mamata Banerjee? Better is to go to a chess club and start playing chess!

Vishy defends his title. There is a big difference in winning it for the first time and defending it multiple times. It also helps since Anand is head and shoulders above Gelfand in rapids. Congrats everyone, but his title defence against Kramnik and Topa were much more exciting. I expect Anand to lose his title in 2014 - but hope it wont be against old Vlad. Would like to see a younger player like Carlsen or Aronian to win it. Still some time for that -- for now, enjoy champ!

I watched the rapids live. Anand had great chance to win game1, and Gelfie had chances to win game 3. In a complicated middlegame he missed his winning chances. The endgame by Anand was great - youngsters should learn rook endgames by heart!

i'm not actually impressed with this match. even old vlad would be more willing to push anand than gelfand. anand was mightly lucky to get gelfand as his opponent this time.
