LET THE US OPEN BEGIN
by HUSSAIN MITHANI on Aug 25, 2012 07:02 AM

Looking at the draw, federer has tough road ahead with possible quarterfinal against berdych, then murray and than Novak. If anyone can make it through, its ROGER FEDERER.

Novak has the easier draw with only potential threat from delpotro. I expect Novak to go through to the final.

Murray has the toughest draw with possible 4th round encounter with roanic, then tsonga, federer and novak.

My prediction: its going to be a Federer-Novak final.

LET'S GO FEDERER. GET THE 18TH GRANDSLAM.

HAIL TO THE KING OF TENNIS ROGER FEDERER

WHY ARE NADAL FANS ALWAYS FRUSTRATED?
by HUSSAIN MITHANI on Aug 24, 2012 11:48 PM  | Hide replies

they are trying to compare the greatest player of all time FEDERER to a red clay specialist NADAL. clearly they are not using their thinking caps but have they ever used it? NO.
I know Nadal fans want Nadal to be superior than federer in every way possible but is not going to happen in this lifetime. Ofcourse, they are frustrated after all their silly excuses were demolished like always.

when federer was no.3, the excuses were:
- top two players will always come in the final
- he will never win a Grandslam
- he will never become NO.1
- he will always lose to Novak and Nadal

and countless other excuses which have proven wrong time and time again. I know nadal fans are jealous that Federer not only won a GRANDSLAM but became No.1 but they need to understand the greatness of ROGER FEDERER. You can never count federer out even at the age of 31. All these years, Federer fans were ridiculed by Nadal fans for believing in federer, believing that he still could win titles and slams. and Now, federer has done it, the belief of federer fans has paid off and its quite unsettling for nadal fans. please keep clinging on desperately to the H2H record. It is not the criteria that is used to declare greatness of Federer. H2H can be skewed based on alot of factors and even after Novak winning 7 straight against Nadal and rosol beating nadal in wimbledon, nadal fans still don'tget it that H2H does not matter. lets show some maturity for change Nadal fans.

Federer-fans know this in the heart of their hearts that Nadal is going to surpass Federer's count of Grand Slam trophies.
That is why they start abusing whenever someone mentions Nadal.

You cann't be a genuine Federer fan, because you have not abused yet, but as a woman, I must thank you for not abusing.
And you must be right. I had also heard some rumours of Red Clay being sprinkled over Wimbledon in 2008 and 2010, so that Nadal could win it.
In Melbourne in 2009 and in Flushing Meadows in 2010, Nadal had reportedly stuffed enough Red Clay in his soles of his shoes so that it felt like Clay. He really is a Red Clay expert.
One question which has been intriguing me may perhaps be an easy one for you to answer: Why hasn't Federer been able to dominate Nadal on non-clay surfaces in the manner Nadal has dominated him on Red Clay? It must be having something to do with Clay. May be Nadal carries Red Clay in his pockets when he is playing on non-clay surfaces.
And yes. Even if Nadal is going to be restricted by his recurring knee problem, he is going to surpass Federer's number of major titles. You also know this is true, but you wouldn't accept it.

You cant be a genuine nadal fan ,because finally you made some sense. And when you say "You also know this is true, but you wouldn't accept it" doesnt mean you are correct.
I know what I am thinking and I am not sure whether nadal can beat federers record or not. Because I cant predict the future. Last year many nadal fans including you said, federer cant win another GS. Look what happened. So I can honestly say that our hearts doesnt say nadal will beat federers record.
Becuase we know federer will win few more GS. And about abusing, just read anuraug rathors comments and u can read the abuses. So abusing comes naturally to nadal fans as well:)
And yes nadal has won other GS but that was just a reply to nadal fans when they talk about H2H..H2H is 18:10 not 18:0. .And about dominating in other courts, federer has defeated nadal two times in wimbledon and nadal has defeated federer once in wimbledon and once in aus open(you must remember how close those matches were).
So it is not that nadal has dominated federer in other courts. Its very close between the two. And about french open , no arguments. Clay court specialist wins hands down. And one question that is intriguing me, why nadal is not able to win more Wimbledons, US and AUS opens??1 AUS open, 1 US open in 7 years?? why??

Nadal is a great Clay court player, among the greatest there. On other surfaces he is very good too and achieved a lot. But his perf on non-clay is not good enough to to call him one of greatest of all time.

How to explain being world #1 & #2 you have not won a single non-clay trophy in 2years ?
How to justify you have only 15 non-clay titles in 11 years after turning pro ?
How can you be greatest with only 4 non-clay GS in 8-9years & not defending a single non-clay GS..
How come not able to win a single year end where only the top-8 take part ?

Actually I liked Aishwarya's idea, he should stuff some clay to his sole!
Hope that will help to be injury free for non-clay season.

It's quite common for Fed fans to be factually incorrect, but let me point out one of the many in Rajesh's posts...Nadal beat Fed TWICE in the Aus Open, once at Wimbedon apart from the routine thrashings at the French...so it's Federer who is yet to defeat Nadal at any GS other than Wimbledon (and of course,we must accept Rajesh's argument and also remember how close these 2 matches at Wimbledon were too,or is that argument only valid for Nadal?)Next...hard court specialist Federer doesnt win hands down on any court including hard courts!!That's one thing that's more intriguing isnt it??Lastly...doesnt it intrigue you why Federer is not able to win more French Open titles??1 French in more than a decade??Why??

@Anuraug--I dont know how many times I have to repeat this, but your are nadal fan so I am not expecting you to understand. As i said,in clay courts nadal win hands down..I mean only red clay. Federer is second best to nadal. No doubts at all..I wont repeat this anymore..And federer hard court specialist? i thought wimbledon is a grass court..Anyways you will now cmeup with your boring H2H record..becuase thats the only point nadal fans got..And you did not answer my question..If nadal is a good hard court player, why only one AUS and one US open in 7 years?? answer pls..

Federer - Phobia

Nadal may not have but his followers have such an obsession vth Clay court they overlook anything apart from H2H bet FED & Nadal..
True comparision would when Fed was in his priome and his defaets against players (2003-2008)..While Nadal being no. 1 player later.. being defetaed by average seeds.. ppl need to know there are many other players which fare H2H better than Nadal..Blake,Nalbadian etc.. and dame players haveloosing H2H record against FEDEX.. no match to Federer once he ruled d Tennis space (2003-2008).. and we will see how Nadal fares when he players who are 5-6 years younger than him .. In d end.. King will only be O-N-E .. Fed rules

That's the whole point, thanks for reiterating it.Federer's 'prime' was a golden period of 2003-07,when he scooped up 10 slams with average players all around.Till Nadal came on the scene and destroyed Federer's moopoly. He folded like a pack of cards once Nadal came on the scene.

1) One court wonder can never be considered great..at best its an achievement

2)To be considered best in its own era..consistently winning is needed against all or almost..

3) Spirit of d game needs 2 be held high..not shouting on umpire calls.. or even apply strategists to suggest how to geta break when tired..intentionally or u-n-i-n-t-n-e-n-t-i-o-n-a-l .. we would see how Nadal fared till 2017 ..wish he can play till den.. dat wud ensure history will rem him as one court wonder..

Hahaha, you need to get your head examined.SOmeone who has won 11 Grand slams,a career slam,an Olympic Gold,2 times WImbledon-French titles in the same year,21 Masters titles, and 3 Davis Cup titles...all at an age of 25...is a 'one court wonder'??You seem more insane than Anders Breivik. And lets apply your own warped'logic'....your 2nd point about consistently winning against all ...how do you explain Federer's pathetic record against Nadal??Trails him by almost 1:2,has never beaten him in any slam except Wimbledon, trails him in their GS meetings....can that be considererd 'great'??You need to go watch Pogo channel and drink your milk.

Kid.. you have recently started surfing.. first go and check the stats of Federer.. dnt wanna copy paste as u above..For some reason I had grown up knowing Grand Slams are tagged higher than masters.. but u can check d stats for that too..H2H Nadal fares better to FEDEX..but in his prime too loosing with avg players.. lemme put more logics.. consistent USO winner.. most no of AO record for FEX..does dat help ?? When u define greatness.. u cant weigh Clay higher dan rest of the courts where his >70% wins have come..surf more.. would help

stop this joke about adding 3-4 Major to Nadal's private kitty for winning Davis cup! Spain got some good bunch of top players in recent years making it possible for them to win Davis cup. Nadal have hardly played 3-4 times outside Spain in Davis cup & that too agaist Italy , Belgium etc. Never played outside Europe & he was as usual not playing when spain had to face tougher opponents like US in US. He played only 4-5 Davis cup matches on non-clay.

hold on Anuraug, talk about giving full credit to Nadal for 4Davis cup first. Justify it. eg. Last year Davis cup Spain face USA in US, Nadal skip that crucial tie & appear for next one played in Spain on Clay. A year before, France defeat sapin 5-0 in France.. Nadal skip that. Why so selective when u r not even injurred ?

Nadal is a distant second to Federer
by Michael on Aug 24, 2012 02:30 PM  | Hide replies

Nadal always has the excuse of the knee injury whenever Federer has peaked and in top form. Nadal is the greatest clay court player of all-time. But Federer should be known to be the greatest player of all-time.

Take away the red-clay grand slam titles from Nadal and he will have only 4 titles, making it lesser than Djokovic.

Some may argue with head-to-head records. Then finally what matters is being number 1 in the world for most time and most consecutive weeks.

And what happens if you take away from Federer the grass grans slam titles? He will have just 10 titles, making it less than Sampras and Nadal.Federer is 'one of' the greatest players of all time, and is a contender to be called the greatest of all time, but it's by no means undisputable.HIs wobbly record agaisnt Nadal, and his ten titles having come in a time when there were no serious contenders around and his (lone) clay title having come in the absence of Nadal, will always put question marks on that argument.
