Lack of Gold, but still well done.
by srikant Iyer on Aug 13, 2012 02:22 PM

First I would like to congrajulate all the Silver and Bronze medallists who did nation proud. All though there were total of six medals won, there were only 2 silvers out of them and no gold. This shows India is not at all a sporting country at this stage I would like to bring to notice to our media. If India has to become a sporting country,it needs to participate in all the events in Olympics.I think some unnecessary subjects should be removed from syllabus & sports should be made compulsory in school and junior college level where all the students must compulsory pass. This will drastically help in producing more potential athletes.

It is high time to educate our fellow Indians for the importance of having balance diet that include non veg food like meat, chicken, fish etc for strong health to compete future Olympic to win medals for India.

The side effects of non-veg food can be reduced through proper exercise.
Sportspersons may take animal food since it has been proved scientifically that meat acts like a stimulant just like drugs that boost energy in the body.I am talking about the kind of banned drugs in olympics.

Sports...

Atleast now Govt should take the sports seriously and encourage the sports person who want to make their country proude at international events.

Parents too should encourage their kids to take sports as profession rather forcing them to study for a degree and then go to US or Oz for jobs.....

Well said Sankar!
First we must forget cricket and corruption. Both are very dangerous for our development.

The medals won by secular indians none of the sang parivars are in the list. infact those parivar supporters are burden on our nation.

I second. It is a blot on sushil's reputation. he did it with a vengeance as there was no need for him to indulge in such a felonious act when he was already leading by6-3.

Yogeshwar is more talented than Sushil
by Maihoon Don on Aug 13, 2012 10:05 AM  | Hide replies

I saw both of them wrestle and i can say for sure Yogeshwar is a much better technical wrestler. He was just a tad unlucky to miss out on silver or gold. He is not hyped by media because media looks for people with fair and decent looks to hype up. Yogeshwar has a better defense than Sushil who exposes himself constantly by going for the legs and never tries to retreat. Anyway, Indian wrestlers were not good enough to get the gold.

You know what, thats what Azharuddin said too. He thinks he is too good at the nets session.

Problem is that he is not sure when it comes to big games.

Hope you get my point.

Nellore Kishore your statement lacks logic.

MOre then 30% of Indian are mus and xian and are definately non-veg and among hindus more then 50% are non-veg so over all some 70% of population is non-veg, So over all some 75% of population eats meat that is arould 900 million Indians are non-veg and none of these could reach olympic level.

So how can you say Yogeshwar and Sushil could have bettered the record.

Indian Non-veg eaters eat over fryed oily-greasy food and suffer from high HDL , Try-glecrides level and cardio-vescular effort tolerence is extreamly low.

Japanese and KOreans eat almost raw food including meats and fish which is cooked very less and not the chicken fry and biryani kind of food.
