Hockey Managed By Wrong People
by Bigtribe on Aug 11, 2012 07:19 PM

1. Indian men looked very very incompetent to match the opponents not only in scoring goals but to going after them...

2. In every match it looked as if India has fielded their B or C team in the olympic.

3. There is no dearth of realy and competent talents in india - mind you my local village team will defeat these bunch of Indian team with huge margin.

4. Wrong men are in the authorities and also wrong players are picked for the team... How can we field strikers who do not even able to penetrate in the D and at least create penalties.

5. High time India needs a specialist team dedicated for scouting talents from remotest corner of the country.

6. Past olympians are the wrong advisers as the game during their matches and now are completely different. They're to be blamed for not uplifting the quality of hockey.

India's Hockey Performance

Congratulations for the Indian Hockey Team. They did well as I expected and predicted even before the start of the Olympics. I had predicted that they would lose all their matches and come home with the "Wooden Spoon" which was what they were worth for.
The entire Indian team should be awarded the Bharat Ratna!!!

Indeed. The members of this Indian Hockey Team do deserve a Bharat Ratna! Shame on us that we are repeatedly being treated with such pathetic performances by this team. I am at a loss to understand as to how can a team, which plays better in other tournaments, reserves its worst for Olympics? It is high time the players ask themselves some really tough questions ; Did they perform to their potential? Did they play for their country, their teammates & finally, for themselves?

my friend's son settled in UK says that, rumours were floating regarding late night outs by some senior players, which led to arguments with nobbs, but since these players of a particular region have good contacts the matter was supressed.
