IN INDIA WE ARE STRUGGLING HARD TO GET ONE ATLEAST A BRONZE MEDAL BY PLAYING DIFFERENT GAMES & EVENTS BY SENDING MORE THAN 300 PARTICIPANTS.
BUT LOOK AT CHINA,EVERYDAY THEY ARE BAGGING ATLEAST 5 MEDALS THUS COMPETATING WITH THE BEST COUNTRIES IN OLYMPICS LIKE USA,GREAT BRITAIN,RUSSIA,GERMANY ITALY ETC., EVEN IF YOU TAKE SMALL COUNTRIES LIKE KOREA OR JAPAN FOR EXAMPLE,THEY TAKE ATLEAST MINIMUM OF 10-15 MEDALS IN EACH AND EVERY OLYMPICS
after any little success our sport persons are made stars by the media be it either the cricket, tennis, shooting, boxing or athletics. As a result no one repeats his/her success story.

Sir
What we do in our real life even many of us are super star in our field but we spent plenty of our valueble time in other activity. Vijender is also Indian , so he is also doing the same thing and sportperson all over the world are doing same thing. Sports culture will come in India when we let our children play , from very beginning we are putting them toeards study and professionalism, that is the route cause for India's failure in sports zone. Altough it is my opinion only.

typing on blog is very easy. Only who is a sportperson can understand the meaning of participation and performing. It is best ever performance by Indians in any olympic and I salute to all of them.

For this attitude only we are not able to produce world class athletes. So try to make a difference by saying no to star worshipping.

She is first Indian to play semis in olymic Badminton not because of her luck , it is her hardwork, dedication and sincere efforts. You might know that world no 1,2 and 3 are from CHINA and they practise with each other. Saina got chaance to face them only in competetion. So it well desreve d for her efforts.
than all time greats owing to the lack of medal winners in the country. The prize amount, a bronze medalist in an obscure event gets, probably exceeds that of Phelps or even Usain Bolt. This should act as an incentives. Of course, India does not believe in spending at the grass root level. They hope that the system will somehow throw up winners who can then be pelted with prizes and other accolades.

How much money does Jamaica spend on athletes? So stop blaming the govt. We as a society has to set the priorities right.

hello dude! They have talent, hardwork & ability to win the gold medal.Dont be jealous of them. In India People give importance to only cricket..cricket..cricket..& they dont give importance to other sports. then how can u blame our indian sportsmen. Our sports system & politics are like that..
I wish rediff uses a little polite languages while talking about quarter final losers. Is loosing 13 17 in quarter finals of olympics biting the dust.HE IS ONE of eight best boxers in the world in his group
