Nobbs deserves this. He neglected three senior players and they are 1) Rajpal Singh 2) Prabjot singh 3) Arjun Halappa. Experience does matter and without proper experience, nothing can be done. suffer Nobbs !!!

India is doing pretty well compared to last Olympics in number of medals so why worry about hockey so much. Let them sort it out. In any case we have lost the mental edge (and the skills) there and it will be hard to recover from there in anytime soon. There were some basic flaws in the selection which have come to the fore now and may be wirth mentioning: goal keeper who is not even assured of a place was selected as captain. Also Sandeep is not the best defender avaialble so his selection was not advisable. Just the PCs are not going to win games against teams liek Netherland and Germany who can stop them.

BASED ON THE Coaches statement that the plans worked out are not followed shows they want to be heroes solely in a team sport.

Does the nation forget that we do not take our National Game i.e. Hockey so seriously. If it were Cricket, many things are showered on them. How much is actually being spent on this Hockey team and what steps are being taken so that they get the necessary exposure and match practice. Just playing in the country will not improve their games. The IHF federation has to talk to other countries so that or team can tour various countries and get experience. The team has to be treated at par if not equals like the cricket team. They are not being made to feel important. Let alone the players the nation itself does not respect the game as such, which ironically was the flagship sport of the country. Why not the experience of some greats be taken. We all sink in egos and never come together to salvage the game and try to win back the glory.

To be a sports minister, you dont have to know all technicalities. If it is so, the should know technicalities not only for Hocky but for tennis, volley ball, boxing, cricket, shooting, wrestling etc....which is impossible. Your point is not valid here mate...

The two basic requirements for outdoor sports are strength and stamina. More so in a world of fitter bodied competitors. We, Indians, sadly lack these, leave alone everyting else.
