Vishnu Vardhan didnt really look like a player ranked 400 in doubles. He looked more like a 40 ranked player. Kudos to them. They both played their heart out and lost to much better and settled opponents. I hope Vihsnu carries forward his new-found form and breaks into the international arena.

Somdev Devvarma, Rohan Bopanna, Vishnu Vardhan, Yuki Bhambri are our future stars.

Leander Paes is a true sports person!
by Venkatesa Prabhu on Aug 02, 2012 11:20 AM  | Hide replies

Unlike Mahesh Bhupathy who is all talk, glitz and glamour ... Leander has done the nation proud, not just this time but every time he played for the country. He has come in the mould of former Indian tennis legends beginning with Ramanathan Krishnan, the Amritarajs (specially Vijay), Ramesh Krishnan and the like. He plays with his heart and never gives up. My hats off to this great sports person. He even demonstrated great sportsmanship when Bhupathy talked of him as a 'backstabber" and the no-good Rohan Bopanna sided with Mahesh to kick Leander. The present All India Tennis Federation is weak and that's how Bhupathy has been able to get away with his bullshit behaviour. If the old warhorse R K Khanna had been around, he would have got the gate long, long time ago ... for his self-centered behavior.

Lee - A true sprotsman
by shib sankar on Aug 02, 2012 10:58 AM  | Hide replies

To me - Leander should get as much respect as Sachin or any other Indian cricketer. He is the won, who brought India's name to Olympic medal tally after a gap of 16 years and (40 years) on individual event, whenever he has played for India in Davis cup, Asian games, he has performed really well and competed with the best in the business. Look how he supports his partner in this match. He was never critical about Vishnu rather concerned if he has the right experience of grass court

Paes and Bhupati - Arrogants, Selfish
by Abhijit on Aug 02, 2012 10:58 AM  | Hide replies

Both couldn't play as a team together. Both forced to have separate partners for them. Both of them lost tamely.

Now both of them giving arguments that they did their best, their partners are perfect and so on.

They are in short selfish arrogants and a big liability to nation.
They should be dumped.

It is not so simple. Leander has Olympic medel, whereas mahesh doesn't have that. He needed that to be the nation's tennis icon. He used bopanna, sania for that through his business globosport. If you have seen yesterday's match or any of those memorable devis cup matches where leander was the lone hero, the tiger; you could not blame him.

Ok, forget international tennis, what is your national record?

Ok, forget that too....what is your tennis record in your state/district/town or your club?

Pls make it google searchable, because I looked for Braj Kishore, and I could not find any tennis record.
