This topic is no longer able to generate any enthusiasm. Nadal has won the competition hands down. It has been 5 years since Federer defeated Nadal in a major tournament (read Grand Slams), and yet the Mithanis of the world keep shouting GOAT!

You don't have to be so frustrated. If the topic is not generating any enthusiasm then why would you post anything in the first place. Nadal has won clay competition only. That's about it. federer has more titles than nadal on grass, outdoor hardcourts and indoor courts. even on clay, federer has done well and is only second to nadal. nadal is not even second on other surfaces. nadal is restricted to clay only so the comparison between a clay courter nadal to all court player federer is ridiculous. nadal fans want nadal to reach the greatness of federer but nadal is not even close. and do I need to remind you every time that federer is retirement age and is five yrs older than nadal so federer not defeating nadal since 2007 in GS is not fault of federer. its age and the fact that nadal started showing up in finals consistenly only after 2010 french open while federer was consistenly showing up in finals from 2005-2010. don't be so ignorant. how many 30 age players have won GS? pete was able to win just one. its not easy yet federer is still trying and has come close. he has already beaten nadal even at the retirement age and federer is still winning tournaments. even this year, federer has more titles than nadal. The greatness of federer lies in the fact that he can still beat no.1 and no.2 player in the world. I don't expect you to understand all this due to its simplicity. In conclusion, federer is the GOAT and nadal fans wish nadal was but isn't.

actually federer is not losing to nadal in last five years. Federer recently beat nadal at indian wells and last year at the ATP World Tour. He beat nadal both times in straight sets and at ATP tournament nadal lost 6-0 to federer. Federer has past his prime and he still beats nadal in straight sets and ofcourse 30 in tennis is considered retirement age and yet federer can beat the no.2 player in the world and that too so easily. This is one of the reasons why federer is the GOAT. so now we have shifted gears and talking about career slam. even agassi completed a career slam but that does not make him in any way superior to pete who has done much much more in tennis that is why agassi was never considered superior to pete so to even bring that up was pointless. Its even better to win all 4 slams consecutively and Novak will try to achieve that so if he does would that make Novak a superior player than nadal?? and any tennis expert will tell you after the slams, the next best tennis tournament is the ATP world tour. Top 8 players compete and you have to beat them to win the title and to do it six times is quite a feat. I know nadal has failed every time he has competed so you don't want to rate it higher than the olympics. olympics is like davis cup, you win it for the country. winning the olympics will not make a tennis player no.1 or have numerous titles and records to your credit. olympics comes every 4 years but tennis players compete every year.

And the ATP WTF tournament is just another of the ATP events,certainly not equivalent to a slam (except in the glitz,money and glamour of course).So if Nadal hasn't won it yet its no big deal....it's quite like Federer not winning any other ATP event.Winning the WTF is certainly not a marker of 'greatness',except of course that it'sa the last straw left for the losers to hang on to.
