There are many people in this forum who bark against cricket issuing statements like C is played by 10 countries, BCCI is pvt board etc etc. But point to be noted is that no single game including scoocer is played with same passion across the globe. Soccer WC may be played by 50 nations but the real exitement starts only during the knock out phase. All the round robin leagues are only for name sake. For the last 20 years saudi, japan etc have been countinously qualifynig for the WC but never ever they could do some thing out of box but to give a gate pass for the superior nations to inprove their stats. Likewise Tennis. How many countries really adore it completely.U always find 2 among top 10 seeds competing the finals and hardly u have anyone watching on TV during the first 3 rounds.Comming to Bhatat Ratna, what great thing had Rajiv gandhi done to this country in his 5 years of rule to win it.For that matter, how many laurels had Lata man'kar brought to this country by singing for bollywood. Every individual tries to make for his livinghood by his/her professionand in the process turns out to be a prodigy in the field qualifying for the highest award. In the present world no one in their prime days works for the betterment of the society keeping all the other things aside unless he is free of all the social responsbilities. With dur respect to Anna H and every one supporting him, where was he all these years when the country was reeling under corruption since independence?

Dont be too jealous of some one's achivement. The point here is not about the BR or some other award. How succesful one was in his field and how passionately some one performed his/her duty is the point here. people like u and me can at max fight on this forum rather than going out and achiveing some thing extraordinary and pls dont try to display ur ignorance with ur loud mouth. Learn to hail anyone's achievement, whether he is from our country or other

he does not require government recognition. He is recognised by billions of indians. Anna is known to one and all from Kashmir to Kanyakumari. And now, the entire globe knows his power and value.

I would further say that no sportsperson should ever be considered for Bharat Ratna. Sport is only a passtime, it does not effect any gains for common citizen. An Australian businessman succeeds by working hard not because their team is the best in cricket. Even if Indian team was THE BEST in world cricket Sachin should not be considered. Dhyanchand is far superior to Sachin in terms of achievement and stature but still he was a sportsperson.

There should be distinction between achievers and contributors.

People after a life full of selfless contribution either in socio-politico-economic fields or medical/public service/education/business(employment generation) etc can be considered.

I am glad to see the outpour against Sachin's planned nomination for BR.

In last test match, Sachin payed dirty politics :

1. Umpire declared Dravid out of caught behind, but ball never touched his bat, he asked the question to Sachin, but he looked other way.

2. When he was settled in batting, he intentionally got himself run out.

sachins nomination for bharat ratna is just a political gimmick otherwise why they did not think about other vertaran sports personalities who's contribution is better than sachin. Sachin is getting full money and leading a laxurious life whereas other sport person are still find it difficult to meet their day today expenditure but never hesitate to perform for the country.
