Post-mortem nation
by dogsaveindia on Sep 22, 2010 02:14 AM

So the PM has ordered an investigation, why the heck didn't his office have some involvement from the planning stages or when the CWG officials were complaining.
India will fix all its problems after all the good and silent people are dead and gone.

to find way to look down at India. I am living in London where 2012 olympic is to be held and believe me all, from no angle, the location, (near main olympic stadium), can be said a clean or hyginic place but, no one will comment because only white ppl have been authrorised to comment on hygine. The london has become one of the dirtiest place over these years but Still no -comment. We should come out of slave mentality and stop giving God like treatement to these smelling people who does not even know to brush teeth every mornining. India is clean as any other country. Before making any comment on hygine, first make yrself clean and hyginic.

I agree with you that we should not let others dictate to us but some of the accusations just cannot be ignored like stray dogs on beds, dirty toilets with open access to laborers, pedestrian bridge collapsing injuring over a dozen people, etc. and all this after the authorities have assured everything will be ready in time.

The CWG budget could well have been sufficient for 2 such projects.

Karn P:

Good that you are living in London. But sad that you got a time machine whereas they didn't give me any.... :(

I mean, you already know how the stadium is going to look like in 2012... :)

Dude, if you were living in Sydney in 1996; you'd have said the same thing about the Sydney Olympic Stadium - which was a garbage dump back then....

But then since you are brilliant, you only choose to close your eyes and try to convince us with your "fantastic" logic... :)

Karn, you forgot that 2012 is not arriving day after tomorrow but CWG is upon us. Please set the booze aside and welcome to reality!

Patriotis will only go so much in covering the smell of Sh.it, but sooner or later its smell reveals itself.

Are you saying that all the Indian media who have been covering the pathetic preparation headign into the CWG have been all lying so far?

Do you think the global media speaking glowingly about Beijin Olympics was also a lie, and that Chinese government had forced these British, Scot and world media to photo shop images of Beijing olympic.

Do you think your eyes were doing tricks when you watched the squeaky clean Beijing infrstructure? Its misplaced patriotism like yours that helps crooks like Kalmadi escape every time.

I have been living in the US for a very long time, and let me tell you, India is called 'Third world' for a well deserving reason.

The last time I visited London, it didn't smell of sh*t.
I didn't see people sh*tting on the Underground tracks at 6 AM either.
I didn't notice any women mortally afraid to get in a cab or take a stroll at night.
My eyes didn't burn from all the nasty London pollution or smog.
Check and make sure that you are actually in London.

LOL..you are right. I am sure that guy is in some slum in Delhi. Delhiites have this wild imagination which causes them to boast that they are better than the US and Europe and every other place on earth. This guy seems to be advanced case of Delhiitis...he seriously believes that the slum he lives in Delhi is a suburb of London.

1000 Crores for what?

They spent 1000 crore for making JN Stadium, for Renovation.
How can any one beleive???? One can make better than that in just 200 Crore (even this is more for Renovation).

Breaking news: The foot overbridge being constructed near the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium has collapsed, injuring 27 labourers, five of them seriously.

This overbridge was supposed to be used by the athletes and the spectators to enter the stadium from the parking lot.

Wait and watch for more to come. Remember the nursery rhyme: London bridge is falling down, falling down, My dear baby.

Just imagine the quality of construction provided by the greedy contractors. I really wish 2 or 3 stadiums topple down and this closes the chapter of the UPA govt. in the history books of India.

Shame on the UPA Government.

Agree Shame on the Central and State government. I am surprised they still keep sayin 'No problem' everything is OK and will be taken care of!.
Why don' they accept this is a serious problem rather than making stupid statements.

Shame on Manmohan Singh for allowing people like Suresh Kalmadi to handle CWG. More ever Kalmadi was saying CWG will be better than Beijing olympics. I am sure - he has gone mad.

This corrupt fellow Suresh Kalmadi must be arrested and made to own up his responsibility and more importantly his culpability in the state of affairs the CWG are in today. Its a shame, disgusting and shocking to know that it is allowed to go on year after year.

India not at its finest but at its truest.
We "buy" these games to show that we have arrived at the world stage but then we hand over this opportunity to monkeys.
We can clean up the sh*t on our streets and our rivers but the sh*t for brains in our leaders' heads will never get cleansed. We are doomed as a nation and this may sound fatalistic but the proof is in the pudding.
