Is India really number 2. In Olympics Britain always finishes with 25-40 odd medals. India has maximum 3.

To be world champions, you need world beaters. Indians can only win in depleted win. None of our boxers can win a medal against the cubans. Similarly, Saina, our greatest individual hero, is not at par with the Chinese women yet. And yes, Sania, who nearly won Gold, will be knocked out of the first round of the Olympics

ATER WINNING THE GOLD MEDAL FOR CORRUPTION
by such jano on Oct 12, 2010 07:42 PM  | Hide replies

even before games begin without giving others any chance, Indian athletes have joined the party by winning few medals.

Its obvious the good show by athletes is going to be used to pardon our corruption kings.

So the moral of the story is corruption is a right as per sixth constitution amendment.

If you are not corrupt, you nothing but ChootiyaInIndia.

you gotta know it very late.

It's quiet understable that such huge events can not be organised without corruption. It is possible in western countries as well.

The negative aspect of this Commonwealth Games is organisation. Even after corruption and other problems it is not of that world-class event.

by Pankaj Mehta on Oct 12, 2010 07:41 PM  | Hide replies

Why rediff did not have their own commentry for India's semi final match.
I had to follow it on bbc. It seems, it was very exciting match.
whoever had seen it must have been enjoyed.

Martin Gough At the hockey: The crowd are ecstatic here as India do their lap of honour, as if they've won the title. Goalie Bharat Chetri is lifted off the field. Respectful applause for England after a brave display, as they take a lap too.

Really inane, a team which cannot win more than three medals in the Olympics winning 100 medals in the CW. Speaks volumes on the REAL standard of the CW. The real icing on the cake was the discus throw event where Indians won all medals without even breaking the national record! HO HO HO

IN Hockey, India cannot beat SPain, Germany, Netherlands, and will again receive a sound thrashing from Australia. This will bring us down to earth. How can we forget the great debacle of the World Cup 2010 held in Feb at the same venue. Can't have changed from losers to winners in six odd months?

Pathetic jingoism....
