Closing ceremony
by sudhir ponnala on Oct 08, 2010 03:50 PM

Now that Kalmadi managed to get Princess Diana to the opening ceremony of the games, how about
getting Rajiv Gandhi for the closing ceremony?

The highlight of the closing ceremony will be the ghost of Rajiv Gandhi scaring the daylights out of Kalmadi. I"m sure the audience will enjoy that

It is indeed befogging

how sania is maintaining her indian citizenship even after getting spliced to a paki since, to the best of my knowledge, pak does not fall in the bracket of the 16 exclusive countries where NRIs abiding in those countries can simultaneously hold dual citizenship? It is really fraught with danger allowing someone who is technically a paki to have a good run across the length and breadth of the country at will. Govt/intelligent agencies should keep a waether eye on this muzzie with an accent on Humint. But thanks to shameless vote bank politics, this won't see the day light.

This wont get into your small brain;
She has not accepted the citizenship of Pak; merely marrying a person of different nationality does not makes you citizen of that country but yes it ofcourse relax a lot of criteria to be a citizen.
Blinded with hatred of particular religion is your problem.
This always happens in India as Hinduism does not have that much foot in other country otherwise you could have understood this. For e.g. if there would be a country whose majority follows hinduism and that nation has enemity with India, does that means that since you follow hinduism you are an enemy of India??? Patriotic to motherland has nothing to do with religion

A sporting thought !
by om shanti on Oct 08, 2010 03:25 PM  | Hide replies

Life has becoming busier, people do not have enough time to play sports or do exercise. However, if you have a look at how playing sports affects your health and what their positive effects are, you must change your mind.
Firstly, playing sports can bring a healthy life and a fit body to you. You will be more active and healthier by practicing. To illustrate, you can have a lower chance in getting serious illness such as heart attack or high blood pressure. In other words, it increases your resistance. In leisure time, you can play sports with your friends or your relatives, this not only helps you but also motivate everyone around you to take part in sport to have a good health. Furthermore, there are some sports which you can play easily such as table tennis, tennis or football and after that, you feel relaxed completely or even escape from your stress. By doing this, you can have a method of relaxing and improving your health after long hours in the office. As a result, you can concentrate more on working and having the desired results in your work.

Moreover, you also need to allow and encourage children to play sports, especially some outside activities such as football, basketball or volleyball to decrease the time that your children spend sitting in front of computers or watching television.

These sports can help them have endurance, quickness and even teach them how to improve team spirit and work in groups. These sports also teach them how to communicate with their teammates, and show them how active and creative they are. This could bring about them enjoying more at playing sports in order to improve their health, and this possibly help them get rid of stress in studying. Additionally, if they do not have enough time to play after school time, they can play these kinds of sports in the break time with their friends every day. However, if children do not know how to balance their time between studying and playing sports, their studying results might decrease. It is also an important factor that parents always beside their children and help them manage their time better.

Playing sports is more useful than doing exercise because taking exercise only requires at least one hour a day, patience and only helps you have a healthy life. However, by playing sports, you can learn many precious skills that could help you in more aspects of real life. With children, sports are not only for entertaining but also they are guiders for them because they learn a lot of skills in sports which is maybe considered as life skills.
Although I played many sports including tradional sports like kho-kho,kabaddi,etc,in my school days,I used to play football, cricket and badminton.

In college days I learnt and played table tenniss. As of now I regularly play snooker, bowling and table tennis.
In China, pooling and bowling has been made a common man’s game.Every town has pubs/clubs for playing snooker, table tennis or bowling. The per hour fee is very reasonable and all can afford.Such centers are found busy every evening. This exhibits the sporting spirit of the hard working spirit.Do you play any sport these days ?We Indians too needs to participate in sports more and more and come out of the lattargies of bollywood, cricket, computer and politics…

If you think cricket is a lethargic sport, then what about pool and bowling? how much stamina do you need to play these? that way u do more running while playing cricket compared to these games. If u want a real sport, then talk abt basketball, tennis, etc.

Bowling needs lot of strength on the left leg,as well strength on the right arm..pool is much easier , good for reducing one's stomach, and increasing one's concentration and accuracy..table tennis is a much better excercize,I change the games and atleast play 2 sports every day for 45 minutes each...
Regarding lathargy of cricket,I mean of watching and wasting time blogging on it,I donot mean the game, yes,I agree, cricket is also a game thru which we can do some physical excercise...

ok you mean bowling for a right-hander. Well, just imagine if just the left leg and the right arm are strong (and the right leg and the left arm are not worked on at all) :) just kidding. And yes, once u reduce ur stomach, pool becomes a game of concentration & accuracy, which is required for any sport. TT is good, and for that matter, I agree with u that playing any sport is good rather than sitting at a desk and blogging.

The NZ commentator !!
by Proud Indian on Oct 08, 2010 03:24 PM

The NZ Foreign Minister says that there is freedom of speech in his country so they can't remove this commentator for calling Sheila Dixit as `Deep Shit' and `Dick Shit' and he also says it is appropriate name for an Indian and also for Delhi.. (roads)???? If this was China, they would have cut off all diplomatic relations by now and cancelled all contracts they would have by now !! But then, they don't have people spitting, shitting and urinating on streets... Why isn't this paan and gutka not getting banned ?? Why when the foreigners get out of the airport they are being told that cigaratte smoking is banned in public.. what a fantastic law.. probably the first one in the world..it sounds like the Saudi ban on drinking alcohol.. what about the public urinating and defecating... VS Naipul had said , `Indians defecate anywhere.. they don't look for cover'.. aren't we ashamed of ourselves ??? During the Beijing Olympics, the Chinese had the best automatic toilets and they also went on a massive overdrive educating their public about basic hygiene, manners and English speaking and other etiquette... No wonder they call India the `democratic mess'...Meanwhile, the Bangalore cab driver hasn't been given the death sentence for raping and murdering the BPO employee..only lifer..we will soon hear from him also.. some autobiography or interview in the media...or can we put him in Big Boss 4.. They have got a female dacoit who murdered 70..God save this country !
