Medal tally should be updated time to time
by vel murugan on Oct 08, 2010 01:36 PM  | Hide replies

It's request to rediff team. Medal tally never gets updated time to time. when we get complete update that India gold reached 16, but still medal tally shows as 14.

ZERO Spectators Because
by Suresh Kalmadi on Oct 08, 2010 01:28 PM  | Hide replies

Most of tickets were taken away by Officials as Complimentary Tickets. They were distributed to Friends and Family - who have no interest in Sports.

Genuine Sports Lovers were told TICKETS NOT AVAILABLE.

So, Typically Sarkari Ch@rs.

October 8, 2010, 11:49:
Still no spectators: CWG Federation chief Mike Fennell's concern over sparse crowds at the stadiums remain. The UK's Telegraph reports that there were just 10,000 spectators in a 60,000-seat stadium — and half that the day before. The atmosphere is funereal when compared to the full houses that were the norm in Melbourne four years ago and in Manchester in 2002. Didn't Mr Kalmadi say that tickets for many events had been sold out? What's happening?

THIS IS THE POPULARITY OF CWG.....
THANKS REDIFF FOR SHOWING US THE TRUE FACE

Amit, fact is 100% Tickets are actually given away - NO TICKETS ARE AVAILABLE. But most were NOT SOLD - but given to Friends and Relatives of Shiela Dixit, Kalmadi (me), and other officials.

If you believe Indian News paper sources then I pity on you. Please get the exact details from the Locals, I heard some one saying they are not getting the ticket.

I once read somewhere here in Rediff from some one quote:

If you don't read the News paper you Mis Information and If you read the News Paper You Misinformed.

That's 100% true

GAGAN NARANG
by dinesh mishra on Oct 08, 2010 01:20 PM  | Hide replies

Status of Gagan Narang is not lower than that of Dhoni or Sachin Tendulkar.
I request to all Indians please give honour to all CWG medallists (Gold/Silver/Branz) as equal to our National Cricket players.

All medal winners have done India proud but Gagan Narang stands out.I request the Indian Govt to reward all medal winners financially so that the talented people can make sports as a choice career.A big thank you to Indian contingent in CWG 2010. I get as much thrill and Pride watching these winners as watching Indian Soldiers winning the Kargil war.JAI HIND

Archery Team

I saw the archery match Live. It was wonderful team effort and luck played some part as India won by just 1 point. The England team player made just one mistake in the last round and scored 5. This costed them the match. Kudos to Dola Banerjee and the team.

Correct. I watched it too. The previous few rounds were dominated by the England team, and the Indian team were doing enough to stay in the competition; one or two mistakes by the opponent would take them forward, and that's exactly what happened- the last two shootings by the England archers went way out by some bad luck or tension, and we won by one pt. However, good show by the Indian team on a good competition and getting the gold!!
