it will not sorry india has only one sport and that is cricket.morever indian hockey team confessed we cant match tje pace of aussies ever so case closed.u do some useful work rather than wasting ur life here in rediff forum

India is 12th ranked team in the world and playing in WC as they are the hosts. Otherwise one of Russia, Poland, Malaysia or China would had been instead of India.
No problem. Like Muller,I am also not counting India in Semi finals. I expect India to finish best 5th or 6th. Yet, it will be a great achievement.
To reach among top 4 teams in the world in the next 4 yearsIndia needs several million $$ to be injected in players and coach Brasa to continue for another 5 years.
Gone are the days INDIANS and PAKIS dominated the field hockey with their artistic stick work.Now the hockey is being played in ASTRO TURF which requries more speed,strength and stamina.Generally the players from the sub-continent are lacking in these areas.The game rules also have been changed by FIH that suits european and continental style of play.Let us encourage our poor hockey players.
No Sehwag & No Priyanka & No Rathore.. All of them promised to be there but no one turned up..WHY ?? I guess they said Dhak-2 Go..started going..and reached some other place..Dhak-2 Go..Went..Gone..But our Team will survive..Best of Luck to Them...

Rathore was already present in India's match against Australia. Sehwag will be present in upcoming matches. But no idea were Priyanka is?

kulakuldi pls note that in the pat we have never won against a fitter team like australia.you cant for that reason disown our brand of hockey the question is strategy.its the sardars and adivasis who play hockey in this country why are you blaming them,governments do not encourage the national game indians do not want other games than cricket.your suggestion to withdraw from hockey arena sounds funny why dont you become the sports minister on india?u dont seem to know any knowledge of hockey.
India are playing better hockey than they have in recent past. Even if we finish in third in our pool, and give though encounters to England and Spain, we should be satisfied as of now. let's aim for a better tomorrow for hockey........
