rooney up front was a total failure. no contribution from him. players are too selfish and germans played as a team. except for the controversy about the goal it was germans who played good football.

Bad decision agreed. But no way screwed up? 4-2 would still be humiliating defeat. Germany played far better football. Dont just blame the defeat on refereeing.

But that denied goal might have made the Germans defensive. England at that time was fierce in their attack. But of course the Germans played differently and fantastically. In the second part of the second half the English defense forgot the basics of covering opponent forwards! I think they never recovered from the shock of the denied goal....
ommon Englan there is always next worldcup. Take leaf out of India, we r never there but still we r watching. Look at us, We have won cricket worldcup once way back 1983, since then we all r crazy because we believe that next world cup would be ours

Well said...btw the only world cup India can play is the one we host (if we ever get to do one)..remember hosts qualify automatically...of course its curtains in the 1st round thereafter
With "Waste Rooney" as forward and a "Terrible Terry" as their central defender, England was hoping to win 2010 Soccer World Cup. It was only an old English fantasy.

Perfectly said. Apart from the denied goal, Germans had been toying with English footballers. Gerrard ,lampard duo tried a lot but its a team game at end of day.
England were denied an equalizer with the game at 2-1 late in the first half, and England begining to sink.England should have been awarded a second goal by racial south african refree. England today hit the bar again and again. When they put ball in South african refree did not notice it. Now they will have to seat in bar gulping some rum

even with that goal England wud hav lost....their defence was poor....Germany totally outclassed them...in the defence of the referee, he did not have the advantage of viewing slow motion replays before taking a call...FIFA has categorically rejected using Goal Line Technology(much like 3rd umpires) in the past....
