This German team plays so un-Europeanly, so beautiful like Brazil of yore. Mesut Ozil played wonderfully, play making nicely that lead to 2 of the Germany's 4 goals. Rarely have I seen such an attacking European football - may be Netherlands of 94,98.
It unfair to blame German goalkeeper Neuer for Lampard miss goal. German goalkeeper could not have seen it crossing the line. The ball did bounce once inside the net but it was at the back of a diving goalkeeper Neuer which he could never have seen. In fact videos show him picking it up from outside the line.

It was never German goalkeeper Neuers fault in any way. It Uruguayan Referee's fault. If he did not see the fall clearly, what business he had in the middle? May if if the equalizer was allowed, we would have seen a more rampaging German team

I too agree, that equalizer would only have prompted couple of more goals from Germany. England was listless.
Its an old story so much hype & expectations from the England soccer team and they never deliver. Fans think EPL stars will shine also in the world cup but thats not the case. Take for eg David Beckham. In my opinion the most overrated player ever in soccer. What is his achievement in the 3 World Cups he has played? Other than a few curling free kicks for Manchester United in EPL, Beckham flopped playing for Real Madrid & now in the US. More fame he achieved for marrying one of the spice girls. Rooney, John Terry, Gerrard & Lampard were mere shadows or were just making up the numbers. There might be two other reasons as below: 1. These players are coming after the end of a long EPL season and also count the European competitions. 2. They hardly play as a team regularly. For eg Terry & Lampard can better connect with Didier Drogba who is their team mate at Chelsea rather than Wayne Rooney. But full credit to Germany they were just too fast & fierce. It was almost a Cheetah against a oversized bull in a 100 meters race.

looks like you suffer from low self esteem or something like it, that's why you are posting your comment again, expecting that someone will acknowledge your genius. it would be good if you find something worthwhile to do, which will help you to develop yourself. this goes for all posters who are still on this page, waiting for someone to read their useless comments and reply to them!

Ameya Desai is right when he blames David Beckham. This over-rated lad has only played selfishly. He has brought his country to disgrace by not playing up to the expectation of his over-rated repute.I dont know why people like Anil k feel Mirchi, when hopeless player like Beckham is paid his dues for his failure. Mrrying a celeb & decorating news columns have not come to any use for England. Its a shame to have such poor player in Team.

Yes! English are over rated players. But they should have unity while playing though everyone is from different clubs. But Spanish,Germans are united eventhough they play SPL and Bundesliga.
English player even cannot beat Aussies or Kiwis in foootball.

the same way British have coined terms like 'GLORIOUS RETREAT' to describe the flight of their troops after being defeated by opponents armies. Britishers are expert at maintaining farcical standards to keep their heads high even after shameful debacles.
Germany wins against other teams not because they play better that other teams, but because their frontliners Klose, Podolski and others are quick to capitalize on mistakes committed by the defences of the other teams. When they scored the first 2 goals, the England defenders were nowhere in sight. In the 2006 world cup semi finals, it was the legendary Italian defence that beat Germany by first denying them every chance at scoring, and then scoring 2 goals when they got the opportunity. So Argentina or Mexico, whoever meets them in the quarters, better defend well. Mark Miroslaw Klose and other guys from start to end.

Whats the difference. In cricket every tournament is a world cup - only 5 full time playing teams

Are the Germans not coming off a long season in Germany?
Fact is there is no comparison between club soccer and international soccer - most people outside India (even in England) readily admit that the World cup is a much higher level. Indian fans who have started seeing the european leagues in the last decade have yet to understand that.
It is like the match between Sri Lanka and Scotland where Jayasuriya was on Song. One of the worst match played by England. Looked like that, they r unfit for this world cup. USA could have been a better opponent. And Germany is improving and bringing up themselves with every match unlike loosing all fuel initially. Looks to be good game planning. Good to watch...

Scotland does not have a regular cricket team - they are there to make cricket look like a "sporting event". It is only the three lazy nations of Indian subcontinent that follows cricket, rest have given up long ago.

It didn't look like. Today's German team has too many "non-Aryan" races - Mesut Ozil is of Turkish origin, couple of other African origin players also in Deutsch team

The germans would not play for individual glory. From their perspective, they saved muller for the next game, saved from getting yellow card, injured etc.

Germany was winning anyway. Keep him fresh and uninjured for the quarterfinals. Why risk him for an unnecessary hattrick chance?
