To update LG ... Ronaldinho was badly out of form and shape in the past few months. So Kaka took his place and jersey no. 10 in Brazil team. However Kaka did not perform as per his calibre.

To update LG ... Ronaldinho has been in poor form and shape for the last few quarters. So Kaka has taken over his place and jersey no. 10 in the Brazil team. However Kaka did not perform to his calibre. In fact very few Brazil team performed as per their abilities. They lost the match due to their poor temparament.

Time for a new Champion

Enough of Brazil, Argentina, Germany...Lets have a Spain-Netherlands final..though it won't be east to write off Argentina or Germany in their current form. But its high time Oranje win something. Their are too good a footballing nation to just have one Euro Cup (1988) to show for their talents.

Perfect answer to Pele
by kssunder on Jul 02, 2010 11:02 PM  | Hide replies

Brazilian loss is a perfect reply to the unsavoury remark on Diego Marodona his several years junior.Pele's remark was in bad taste whether justified or unjustified;Pele is at almost at his end and he should have maintained his dignity as an elderly; To the contrary he should have been happy that DM has cured himself of his past offfield misdeamonrs

Yeah, he deserves it, its a perfect rebuke to his non stop stinging barbs on the legendary Diego Maradona. This loss should also sent across a message to him that even as a player he was nowhere near Diego who is by any yardstick the greatest of all times.

Pele's words were cheaper....
But it is too cheapest to rate him far behind Maradona. Pele, Mohammed Ali, Don Bradman,Kasparov, Roger Federer...They are all time greats....

By any yardstick of all times, there were as great players as Pele or Maradona. And not every great player got chance to play in a world cup.
Pele was a striker, whereas Mardona was a mid fielder.
They were great players in their respective areas.
Don't demean them by comparing with each other.
Of course, Maradona did more showbiz and unethical play than Pele.

kssunder,
Don't relate Brazil's loss to Argentina.
What will say if Argentina is forced to pack their bags after the Germany match?
Pele's remarks are against Maradona, not Argentina.
So what has the Argentine or Brazil football team got to do with it?
Football is played on the field, not based on the remarks of 2 rival players of yester years.
