Federer lost crucial points purely coz of the numerous unforced error's he committed..may be is sufering from nigglinh injuries but he did not see that as an excuse..Federer in his top form would have easily outclassed the hard hitting Berdich..Only Nadal in the present era is capable enough to challenge him.

Federer still very good, but past his peak. He still has that magic touch to make the game look easy and charm the spectators. Let us hope we will see some more of him before he calls it a day. But for me the best was John McEnroe, stats wise not so good, but for pure genius he was the best. He was the Maradona of tennis in his pomp
some guys have made a mockery of ur stmnt like Prasad or Saurabh ... but i think u r correct though u should ve put it in a difft way ... during sampras era, thr was no guy wd huge biceps or huge muscular power... these days , all he guys have put on biceps or muscular power...nadal, murray(though he looks very thin), monfils. tsonga, istomin... when Roger Rashid took over as coach of Monfils, the first thing he asked Monfils to have good biceps... i just remember the pic when murray was shown kissing his biceps 2 yrs back...
but Federer is simply awesome....not hugely built...but he generates power from his racquet ...n thats the reason he uses one of the smallest frame racquet(90 square inches) with huge tension in the racquet...so u might have seen some of his shots flying to the crowds as margin of error for him is very less ...nadal , murray , tsonga use big size racquets as they generate power from muscular power....even if they miss hit a ball, still the ball can cross to the other side of the court due to the big racquet size....
saying all these neither Arnold or Undertaker can win all the matches in tennis....not only muscular power, but u need to be perfect athelete n have stamina, skills, mind to win a tennis match ...
Nobody can match the quality of tennis played by Roger Federer. Along with Rafa, both were sensational in the last 6 years. It is possible that his best is past. But still he is good enough to win at least couple of more grand-slams

Yes, we may be seeing an era coming to a close. But what an era. One Federer finally decides to call it a day it will be long before another such player comes up playing such beautiful tennis and dominating the world
There is no player in the current era who has that magical touch which federer has. The beauty of the game also start to fade. Already wimbledon without federer is looking dull.
Federer has set a standard for new kids. It will not be easy for newcomers to achieve the milestones he has achieved.
Look at the tennis now. It's not easy to predict a winner. Most of the top players are at same level. While in Federer era no one was to close of him. Everyone could easily bet on Federer.

Yeah every could easily bet on Fedex...and lsoe their money to those who bet on Nadal.Clone, not long ago you said Fdex is better than'todays kids'like Nadal,Del potro etc....and suckling infants like Berdych are thrashing him.Take a walk, and take your predictions and stuff them.

abhishek calm down...he was the best..but his time is now over. at best he can maybe win 2 more, although he will really struggle now...but we should be glad that he gave tennis fans the best display of tennis in the history of the game...tennis will not be teh same without him.
I m wondering why federer is so successful. he is not atheletic nor tallest. But still the most sucessful. even women tennis player have bigger biceps and triceps than him.

nice point. i m not a tennis literate like other ppl here but there are many guys who are 6'4 plus. Berdych is 6'5. the range goes on till 6'9. So apart from power skills, accuracy, hand eye coordination and speed are also important. And Federer in addition also possess sharp mind to create points.
