If you put heading as Pankaj Advani, nobody will confuse. Here you have put only Advani and everybody referred it to LK Advani. Pankaj Advani is not so famouse as you think and cannot blame the readers.
If he is not happy with the selection process then he should start one more rath yatra to protest. His turn will come only after atul bihari vajpayee gets it first.
I can understand that there is rabid sex famine in the country among the youth. With the unsafe environment and blind orthodoxy, that is understandable. I can also understand the draught of sports facilities for the common man, because of which people have been reduced to wide-eyed zombies following cricket eternally rather than spending some time on their own physique.
What I cant understand is this old brigand, well-past the sexual frustration age, and who is presiding over this vast nations with its myriad issues and achievements, cannot think of giving awards to anyone but face-contorting actors, glorified nude actresses and filthy rich cricketers. What do these people care for these awards, their almirahs are already overflowing.
How about awarding someone who works to remove poverty, or an enterprenuer, or environmentalist, or a jawan, or the mother or father of a slain soldier who gave birth to such a son. Why not pick up a woman who gives everything to her family and helps build the country. It will be symbolic but how much will it mean to womenkind. How about honouring a police constable or doctor who works in villages?
How much sexual frustration is enough for the country?
InTamil Nadu, there is one award called Kalaimamani. Every year, thousands of people are awarded. Some 25 years ago, when the award was announced for Cho RAmasamy, he refused telling that over a period of time, the people not awarded would be less in number and more valued. The same is the case with the National Padma award. Let us respect who are not awrded and ignore the majority who are awarded.
At the outset ,we should realise that these are awards by the govt ( party running the govt).These are generally used to return favours of their cronies ,fund raisers etc . However ,if only they are given , then the selection bias will be obvious .So to camaflouge the real intentions ,others are also given .Here again ,it is not all fair play .Political influence ,official pulls ,money bags etc play a role . So ,a real matured person should disregard these awards and treat them for what they are worth.Any amount of cribbing will only increase his BP .It is like shouting at a deaf person ( or one who pretends to be ). It is better that we ignore these awards and whatever that goes with it .To be fair ,such awards are given in many countries like UK ,France also . US presidents award their fund raisers and others by offering them various positions in govt . Hence ,it is best to ignore them.
I am flummoxed .I have been racking my brains umpteen times to find out in what way Saif Ali Khan & Chatwal were considered more deserving than Yasin Merchant and Olympian Sushil Kumar for the Padma Awards, but I am clueless.Will somebody please explain. PRABHAKAR

Mr. Prabhakar: I am a Padam sri and I know what goes on IN there. I got my Sports highest Award "Arjuna Award" in time, I was 19 years old and got Padam sri when I was 28years old. I matured fast living and breathing with these CROOKS In top. No one knows better than me.
