I am flummoxed .I have been racking my brains umpteen times to find out in what way Saif Ali Khan & Chatwal were considered more deserving than Yasin Merchant and Olympian Sushil Kumar for the Padma Awards, but I am clueless.Will somebody please explain. PRABHAKAR

Mr. Prabhakar: I am a Padam sri and I know what goes on IN there. I got my Sports highest Award "Arjuna Award" in time, I was 19 years old and got Padam sri when I was 28years old. I matured fast living and breathing with these CROOKS In top. No one knows better than me.

Mere mention as Advani in the caption of the news item is misleading & sends wrong signals & connotation as L.K.Advani,the BJP leader, as any normal man ,when he hears some one saying as Advani,it is the Lal Kishan Advaniji that strikes to the mind.The caption should have been amply clear & categorical & have specifically stated him as "Advani,the billion champion" at least. Rediff may please avoid such misleading captions though it may say that it is technically right.
Generally one does not clamour for awards, or says that he is eligible but not selected. But when Proven Talent is consistently ignored & not recognized, one is left with no option. Is Cricket the Only Sport? Is Asian Championship not worthy of Padma Awards? Has not film awards selection committee says that lobbying / influence does come in? Issue is not if the panel is still fair. Issue is what is done to those influencing? Are they debarred?
