An Appeal
by Ravinder Malhotra on Sep 24, 2010 10:58 AM

Extracts of an appeal by Mr. Chetan Bhagat:

I am not going to harp on about how messed up the Commonwealth Games are. Enough has been written. The CWG 2010 is, by far, the biggest and most blatant, exercise in corruption in independent India's history.

In the middle of all this, there will be propaganda campaigns to 'save India's image' and get the Games done somehow. People will be expected to support the event - after all, the pride of India is at stake. The great Indian youth will be called upon to fill stadiums and add energy to the event.

All Indians have been robbed at the same time. Add to that the fact that the government is desperate to save face. Now is when we can get them. And the way to do it is simply what the father of our nation pioneered in his time - NON CO-OPERATION. Yes, and I've deliberated long before saying this - do not watch these Games. Do not go to the venues. Do not watch them on TV. You cannot become a cheerleader to an exercise in cheating.

Just as Gandhiji figured, the oppressor can oppress us; it cannot make us cooperate. Brand ambassadors lending their names to these Games should think twice before lending their image to cover up corruption.

The Indian people have been exploited enough, but to expect us to smile through it is a bit much. If they can walk out of Parliament, we can walk out of stadiums !

Corruption 's Saga at its Peak
by charan kalwani on Sep 23, 2010 11:25 AM

People should withdraw and non-coperate in paying taxes to this so called blood sucker govt . It doesnt even hesitate to think the blood and sweat spent by a comman man to earn his daily wages and giving it to the govt trusting it would be used for the betterment of the country . Instead they have filled their pockets with thw taxpayers hard earned money and brought shame, and tarnished the very Imange of the country. I think kalmadi and congress leaders could even sell their wife and children if that jingled their pockets

Kalmadi sets up a committee to probe corruption in CWG.
by Karthik on Aug 03, 2010 09:24 PM  | Hide replies

Even Mayawati/Karunanidhi/Lalu can setup a committee to probe corruption in her state. Who cares for people or ethics? In Indian history no committee has done anything to finding any truth except wasting for crores for taxman's money.

Seeing all these i doubt why we have a Prime Minister. A Prime Minister who cant take any decision, hides under pranab and chidambaram from getting bashing from the media and public. They blame BJP for everything as though BJP ruled India for 50 years.

Few weeks was wasted in Telangana issue, few months in Maoist upsurge, last few days in Kashmir issue. Government did nothing to solve any of these issues, but when it came to petrol price hike, in a matter of 2 meetings a final decision was taken.

Guys, please go and vote in the next election, else everything will get ruined in the name of aam-admi politics.

Thousands of Crores are dwindled on an event that is in the honour of the queen..
And what is "British Commonwealth", a legacy that is there to remind that you once were british slaves.. and our govt wants us to take pride in it..
oh what a shame..
