Mr. Mallya,
I'm completely with you as far as the issue of selecting drivers is concerned. But can you please explain the logic behind naming the team after India in a sport that has no national affiliations.
I would take you at your face value, but weren't you hoping to make some extra money on that basis in the long run. If yes, then please deal with the baggage without being irritated.
If it was pure love for the country and sentimentalism, then again some explanation is needed. afterall investment and sentimentalism don't go well hand in hand.. and if there was a hint of latter, why back down now.. so your limit of sentimentalism is to the point where there is no materialistic downside.

Hey smarty pants!! the logic behind naming the team after India in this sport does not mean it should run on Indian Oil , use MRF tyres and have an Indian Driver. An Indian Owns it and that is something to be proud of.

What is proud in that? This is the only problem with us Indians - If anybody in our village achieve something we are proud of him/her. We should be proud if we do not when our neighbor, brother, sons and, now for an instance, indians do something. Thr is a difference between MRF tires and indian riders....If you name it force India and recruit foreigners into it, its gonna boil down. Do you know in the crew of Force India even the mechanics are not indian. Aren't Indians good enough to change the tires.... The Mallya is a captialist guy, and no company of such people should be named after the country.

An indian own it and its something to feel proud about. But why put the country name associated with the team when its not a country specific sporting competition..... also no other team has the country's name in it.... dont you find it a little doubtful of invoking a fake patriotism..?

no other team has a country name because they are owned by car manufacturing co.
eg.
Renault
Ferrari
McLaren - Merc
Toyota
Honda
BMW
STR
Williams

or owned by an individual

eg. Brawn

only Mr. Mallya had the curtsy

to name it after his country

and by the way the name of our country is not your personal property its everybodies property

And well Mr. Mallya is surely more Patriotic then you

Go on a web serch and look for further details.

Hypocrite - Who allowed to name your team after India.

Mr. Mallya, you are right. It's your decision to put whoever you want. But who gave the permission to name your team after India. It is not by emotion Indians are asking for a seat to Indian. If you think so forward, F1 boss knows more teams and activities than you managed to know.. he was no fool make such a statement on Karun. If you have invested your money, it is for self benefit, not for India. You should have named after one of your drink brands, like you screwed Bangalore's name with RCB. If you are so proud and want to do good for India, invest some in other sports not just where money rolls - Horse Racing, Golf, F1 and Cricket. This is not real patriotism. If your intentions were good, make a small contibution to general infrastructure for Indian sports, instead some party spending in a foreign land. Learn from Tata's and others. At least 10% of their investment would do good.
Don't just carried away by few wins. We know you recovered your money ($25,000 for each point scored from TV rights and others). All this will turn over you, if this continues in your head. What is Indian in this team? Why was all those Hungama when team was bought and named after India? Why should one permit a race in Delhi's Rastrapathi Bhavan marg, which will be your (yes, it will just be your's) home race? Yes. you can decide all. At least on making such comment, let us know, how much you invested in creating F1 drivers in India. It is just the passion of smaller companies giving some res

If you start a small shop do you employ the best person who can sell more produts to people by his marketing expertise or a person who sits in your shop and wait till customer comes and ask. When it comes to every one they look for best.

I am sure you didn't understood what he wrote. He meant country you understood it business. He meant selflessness and you understood it selfishness. Similarly, u understand mallya patriotic but he is a capitalist. If you can name one capitalist company named after its country name? all over the world. Country should not be suffix or prefix it should be the main world, with which company is known. If you are able to do so, I will agree with you.
