Victory To The Beautiful Game
by karthik on May 28, 2009 08:21 PM  | Hide replies

Man U lost because they were not able to follow the usual EPL strategy when it comes to Champions league knock out stages..(Park 10 men in front of goal, play with 11-0-0-0 formation, frustrate the opponent who tries to PLAY football, get an undeserved goal through a free kick or a rare counter and win)..That was exactly how liverpool played at bernabeau and won and how chelsea played at noucamp and almost won..Even for the final Man U had come with the same strategy.(what else can explain giggs playing ahead of tevez and berbatov).. they were just caught off-guard when barca scored first..
I am not a barca fan, but was so happy to see Man U lose, because I hate EPL teams playing shitty football and dominating C.League with their negative tactics..

Had Man U won yesterday, we could have surely bid good bye to the beauty of the game.. Very very happy for barca's win.. (Even though I am a die-hard madrid fan)

I too was happy to see Barca win coz I like the team and hate ManU, but English football is definitely better than Spanish.
You can't compare just the league winners. Liverpool and Arsenal play great football and clearly better than Real Madrid. Barca is ofcourse awesome.
And it is evident that English teams have an upperhand from the fact that 3 of the semifinalists were English teams past 2 years.

Yes.. they are dominating CL, but EPL teams(except arsenal) dominating CL playing football like that is as ethical as Greece winning Euro 2004..

I really hope, madrid, bayern etc come to their own terms soon to show how football was and should be played..

Except Arsenal no English team plays football. Spanish league is far better and I'm so happy ManU lost. There's no passing game in Englisg league. I wish Arsenal continue their style.

Barcelona as a unit
by sanjay mishra on May 28, 2009 08:18 PM  | Hide replies

No doubt barcelona as a unit was the reason why they won easily after manchester united started brilliantly.Eto's goal changed the complexion of the game totally. After that goal Mutd looked an average team & ronaldo looked like any other ok player trying long shots (initial long ranger was gud rest were duds)instead of trying to move fwd by passing the ball. His head has become too huge for his shoulders to carry(overconfidence & arrogance are the words best suited for him).Xavi & Iniesta are very gud playmakers. But most importantly Messi showed he is the best player in the world & unlike ronaldo he doesnt have to shout from the rooftop & tell ppl.
Gud Barcelona won or else Mutd & frguson would again have got a reason to be stubborn & arrogant.

Overconfidence and arrogrance is best suited for any player in Utd. Dutch are supposed to be the most polite (if not as polite as Ukarainians or Swiss), but see van der Saar. See what happened to Beckham when he was in ManU and how he's now. See how Rooney was in Everton and how he's now. Arrogance is in the blood of any ManU player (or may be Fergie insists that).

I wouldn't even be so happy if Arsenal won that to see manU lose

Iniesta the key man
by Rahul Khatri on May 28, 2009 08:17 PM  | Hide replies

Iniesta was awesome ydy. Messi is a genius and that goal was awesome. Playing Rooney on the left was a failure, also, the real Vidic didnt turn up ydy. Ronaldo was the best Red overall but didnt get any support. Its okay, ManU have won three trophies this year. I think only Chelsea played well against Barca this season. Too bad the refree had to play a hand in Barca winning against Chelsea, but Barca is currently the best club team in the world by many miles.

Dude Mutd has just won single trophy this season i.e. premier league. They are out of FA cup courtsey everton.Lost Champions league as well.It was last season when they won premier league & champions league.
And yes u r right barcelona is the best team in the world right now.
Beating Mutd 2-0 comfortable win
Beating Rea Madrid 6-2 comfortable win
shows they are the best.

Wrong.
United won Club World Cup and Carling Cup along with Premier League.

That makes it 3 TROPHIES.

Rahul is correct.

ha ha.. grapes are sour.. isn't it.. It was the same referee in the same match, who pulled out a questionable red card in chelsea's favor to force barca play with 10 men..and out of all the penalty claims, only one was a definite penalty..and barca were also denied one in the first leg..

C'mon...just accept that there are still teams alive on planet earth who PLAY FOOTBALL and win !!!!

its man u lack
by abhi nair on May 28, 2009 07:53 PM

its man u team's lack of passing the ball , and if they pass they want the ball i the hands literally of ronaldo or ronnie,no other one tried to score. Where barcelona played as team they always passed the ball thats the only way to win a match. and 2 perfect passes and perfect execution done by eto and messi. But don't forget first 5 minutes of play if ronaldo's kick found the net than whole scenario might have changed. but still barcelona played ad team.
