Congrats Indian foot ball team it is indeed a veru great honur that you have won the nehru cup. You have made our country proud. I think we need to set our goals on qualifying for the world cup. It is a shame that inspite of e being the second most populated country we are not able to qualify in the world cup. I think we need to promote the game more agressivley and equate football to the level of cricket. Like IPL in cricket we need to have tournaments for football so that we promote the game. Well done Team India (Football) Keep it up! Keep up the good work. Celebrate hard
My heatiest congrats to Indian Football team :) :-) However, its my wish that before I die I would like to see India playing in Football World Cup (FIFA)
If we wanted to be recognized in the respected football playing nation, we must do following changes, 1:-Kick out Sunil Chetri he is most useless these days. 2:-Find atleast 4-5 best strikers around the world 3:-Send our best mid fielders to the tour of Europe or south america a few names are.. Steven Dias(he is the best footballer in india these days) Renedy Singh Gawli 4:-Though India defense and Mid fielder are quite good we need 5-8 more for the bench strength.
And finally ZEE sports, please do the necessary changes in your technical things it looks local match on the TV compared to EPL and CL.

The same survey, which you mentioned, had listed Syria in the best 3 teams in the world. So in your opinion, the worst football nation beat one of the top three nation and still means NOTHING. I pity your judgment.

Being named the worst football nation ever.. Isnt that the great thing winning the nehru cup..!! Beating the Syrian team who are far ahead from India in rankings.. your reply looks like u hav been disapponted by the result india produced last night.. anyway Chak De India...
All round stunning performance by Indian team.Matched their rivals all through except last qr. of extra time. Sterling guidance by BOB,the charismatic Englishman. A fitting reply silencing all critics specially skeptical coaches like Nayeem,Sabir,Subroto,Chooni and the self proclaimed media experts! Never seen such superb physical fitness of Indian players, culmination of right conditioning camps. Sankar Som.
This is a small stride towards becoming a recognised and respectable soccer playing nation. Many of such small strides will make the country experienced, seasoned and fundamentally strong in international soccer. In the light of the fact that the media attention on this beautiful sport in which the country won two Asian games Gold Medal and became fourth in an Olympics tournament during the 50s, is almost absent, these unknown heroes are making the country feel happy about its progress in the sport. There is a long way to become a soccer power in the international arena but the first achievement should be to be a top Asian team alongside countries like South Korea, Japan, North Korea, and other Asian soccer powers from the Middle East. Reaching this level will bring the team to the platform where they can qualify for the World Cups. India is the second most populated country in the world and therefore it is no surprise that they are unknown talents everywhere who can lead the country to an unimaginable success. However, the above will depend on the government's and corporate sector's interest and attitude towards this great sport.
