Poor chaps can’t b blamed for it….coz they compare him with him only…as there is no other yard stick to measure his greatness
& a so called ‘great’ by his own fans only after just winning first grand slam(other than French Open) that too with competing for 3 years & in five setter epic, Nadal has to learn a lot…for him FedEx is will b measurement yardstick..even just to compare with the King he has to won n number of matches & that too in succession…to reach at the top is great achievement (a player named Marceilo Rios of chilee too has done it for 2 weeks in Sampras era) but to remain there over the years is not a human business….Nadal has to play for winning not just to defeat FedEx…….coz other young guns like Murray, Djokovic, Gasquet are improving by leaps & bounds…running from corner to corner with a lethal forehand won’t help him much other than winning SLOW clay court matches…….Wake up human beings to witness revival of Phoneix from ashes of defeat at Wimbledon…All conqueror is back to his business…..his habbit……. of WINNING & only WINNING….Get ready to defend your titles in 2009…coz Emperor has sleeved up his arms to battle & get back what he lost in this year……..
"Ask god to reach 18 consecutive grand-slam semi-finals he won’t think of it, ask him to compete in 17 slam finals & won 13 of them he won’t dare & ask him to remain at the top for 237 weeks he even don’t dream it…….”

When everybody is ready to chop his head off, he had slapped all his detractors & that too not with verbal volley but with sheer tennis volleys, single handed back hands, fore hands, lofts, smashes. He conjured a dazzling array of all shots that are defined in tennis books & also those shots which aren’t….
Murray was helpless guy remained just another spectator like those thousands who were present in Arthur ashe stadium…………..the only difference was he doesn’t have a sit to relax…poor guy has to face the outburst of man who had made his critics to eat their own words well below their throats…….
For the first time in the whole year it was Invincible FedEx playing his menacing tennis………untouchable serve, precise line work, deep shots, sublime touch, accurate Swiss timing…all in all sublime tennis that the world had witnessed from Champion over last few years……
I agree…..he is not as invincible as he was…yes he can be called HUMAN after series of defeats this year…yes he has surrendered his top spot…but he is not finished yet…in his WORST year he reached 3 grand slam finals & one semi…won 1 out of them…ohhhh what a poor form…he has raised & maintained quality of his own tennis to such a extent that whenever he fails to win a final match, people start doubting his class……

SREENU RAO
Nadal Vs Federer
by SREENU RAO on Sep 09, 2008 06:24 PM

Time immemorial esp. in Tennis we have seen that Power players who are very fast movers on court with less technique being prone to injuries (unless of course they are taking drugs or steroids). Even if after Federer is going to fade away (Some die hard fans of Nadal believe that US open win is a fluke) I am sorry to pour water on their dreams that it will be a Herculean task for a power player like Nadal to stay fit & without injuries for a period of 4 years as Numero Uno.

more substantive analysis after all!! yet, watch the spellings if you have any pretensions towards writing - 'divine' not 'devine', rejuvenated' not 'rejuvinated', for example.

i believe that the kind of prime touch fedrer was having was more than enough to beat even nadal if he cud have managed to reach to final. so here i wud like to say that its was nadal's gud luck that he did not reach to final..otherwise he too wud have thrashed in final just like happend wid murray..

FEDERER BACK TO BUSINESS
by vishnudas on Sep 09, 2008 01:37 PM

he may not have won a grandslam other than us open but he is one player who has been consistent for so many years and the way he played today,it feels like he might continue to rule the slams nad tennis. And french open,he might be carrying this on his back for quite some time after all he would like to leave the scene with that TITLE added to his list .

Continuing on Sania.......
by Shekhar Agarwal on Sep 09, 2008 01:11 PM

She and her parents have successfully marketed her looks rather than working on her game. She has a major attitude problem and behaves as if she has won half a dozen Grand Slams. She just does not work on her fitness and spends time in secretly dating Shahid Kapur and the likes. I feel that unless she breaks away from Mahesh Bhupathi, the other Indian Tennis player with serious attitude problems, dictating how she should manage her brand rather than how to improve her tennis and attitude, Sania would keep sliding down the ATP ranking. Look at Leander and his calm demeanour...his achievements, etc. Mahesh Bhupathi just cannot come any where near him when it comes to commitment to the Country. He just keeps whining.....does not show magnanimity....incites young players like Rohan Bopanna and Prakash Amritraj to make statements against Leander....feels jealous when Sania played with Leander in mixed doubles.....behaves as if he has done Indians a big favour by partnering Leander in any international mens doubles event. Sania....better change your brand manager and take Leander as your mentor if you want to achieve any thing of substance in the world of Tennis. Look at Leander's dignified behaviour inspite of all the adverse remarks and learn from that.

by abishek on Sep 09, 2008 12:58 PM

Some one said when roger losed wimbledon against this year, federer have a tough time now, his career has been ended now, he never win any grandslam hereafter. but today the master has proved he is the master in tennis. and also the astroligist said he had analysed the stars and came to decision on federer future, at the time itself i replyed i would come after US Open. now what that astrologoist want to say here, federer is master and he is best ever in tennis
