Federer showed his class of coming back and clinching the last grand slam of the year and proved to his critics that his best time was has come just through the game. One title down the legend Pete Sampras next year he's going to join the list of all time legends. All the best Fedex bhai ...keep rocking

SOME HISTORICAL PERSPECTIVE
by truth and artifice on Sep 09, 2008 10:12 AM  | Hide replies

In an article in Tennis Week in 2007, the tennis historian Raymond Lee statistically analyzed the all-time best players. Laver topped his list ahead of Tilden and Borg (tied), Roger Federer, Gonzales, Rosewall, Budge, Ivan Lendl, Connors, Sampras, McEnroe, and Kramer.

FEDEX REIGNS SUPREME
by C A K Reddy on Sep 09, 2008 10:11 AM  | Hide replies

We all should feel privileged to witness history being made in front of our eyes. We partisan fans are going overboard supporting our favorites, be it FEDEX or NADAL..... FEDEX is on the threshold of greatness and immortality ( if some NADAL fans feel he is not already there ) and NADAL has helped him reach a higher plateau. Till 2004 FEDEX couldn't even cross the 3rd round at the FRENCH open but once this rivalry kicked in the quality of tennis and fan following grew. From 2005 onwards NADAL has singularly stopped FEDEX from winning French open. Thanks to the change of Grass at Wimbledon a couple of years back ( fFor improving the durability of playing surface into the second week of the tournament), the court became slower & offers more bounce facilitating a baseliner NADAL to win this year. During the BORG era the wooden rackets never allowed this kind of ball speed and the game was pure poetry in motion. We fans keep fighting over who is better but the TWO great players are in fact two great humans and great friends who only have words of admiration for each other. TRUE ROLE MODELS FOR THIS GENERATION. We should feel proud (and thankful to TV & INTERNET) to be witnessing all these great CHAMPIONS in our lifetime... FEDEX, TIGER WOODS, PHELPS, USAIN BOLT, & AMSTRONG to name a few. The previous GEN were witness to some great rivalry NAVRATILOVA-EVERT, CONNORS-McENROE-BORG, SAMPRAS-AGASSI, GRAF-NAVRATILOVA-SELES. FEDEX U ARE GREAT. KEEP IT UP AND ENTHRALL US EVEN MORE.

Congrats Federer..........

As I said before "Federer will back with a bang".
Thanks to Federer to giving such a memorable moment for their fans.
All the best for next year.
I wish he will equal the record of Sampras by winning Australia's open next year.
Murray looked so ordinary against Federer. It shows class of Federer.
Great going Federer.............

Dear Rahul Prasad,

Federer's class and achievements are beyond a shadow of doubt or argument. However, blind supporters of Federer like you fail to recognise the fact that his opponents, particularly Nadal, are closing in on him. Remember, it is Nadal who has won two out of four Slams this year and the Olympic Gold, with Federer getting just one Slam. So, certainly Nadal has been the better player this year, especially after defeating Federer in the French Final in straight sets with a 6 - 0 in the third and final set and overpowering Federer on his own favourite surface of grass, as per Federer's own claim ahead of the start of Wimbledon. In the quarter finals of Nadal in the US Open, the commentator remarked that Federer was lucky not to be beaten in straight sets by Nadal this year at Wimbledon. So, there you are, two great players dominating this era, each with his own style. Winning Five slams is not possible only with power and without technique. So, learn to be sportive and recognise the different talents of different champions. Federer himself has great regard for Nadal and possibly fears him too.

Graet Idea,
A win- win situation. If the child born were to look like sania and play like FEDEX, then great. Only one thing. Somehow please make the children not to play with Tennis, like Sania does for india
