Though, this match proved murrays superority over Nadal, it is too early to lift Murray or drop Nadal. If any one analyse scenario prior to US open, they will find Nadal overworked for a long time. He might be a tired man, with his hallmark enthusiasm missing throughout this match or ven in US open. There are flaws in Nadals techniques which he could counter using his might, enthusiasm and athlletism. If Federer can overcome his low confidence or may be a slight fear on Nadal,he will bounce back in style to regain lost glory. In the long term Nadal cant hold his position as there are threats looming in form of Djokovic who is technically sound than Nadal. But for now, we have to wait and see how Murray fares against opponents like Djokovic.
It is GR8 to see Murray tighten up the fight for top spot. It was a two horse till yesterday - Fedex and the Spanish King. Now that Murray has come up it will good sight of super quality Tennis. But hope Murray doesn't fade away like Safin the best bet against Federer till recently. Murray has to be at his very best to beat Federer All the best to him.

Safin was fantastic against Federer. But if Federer plays in 80 percent form he can easily beat Murray.
Nadal cannot hold his #1 spot for even a few months. He doesn't have the technique to remain there. He can't play (1) The half volley (Forehand and backhand), (2) Backhand (except the chop), (3) At the net. And he doesn't have a great serve either. He could win in French Open and Wimbledon this year because Federer was not in his prime form. Now, if you had watched this match, each of Nadal's technical flaws were very obvious. Good going, Murray.

Logic, get over your powertrip and deal with it.Like most Federer fans, you are celebrating Rafa's defeat rather than Federer's wins.
i am not a nadal supporter as i am big fed fan...but i cant understand what nadal has to do to gain your respect. ever since he has become no.1 people are yelling at roger to claim back that position...y..well if you respect fed game , then just think how much hard work nadal would have done to better that....
he is the only player against whom fed never seems to be in his comfort zone...dont you think this itself is grt achievement for someone like nadal...and he just like federer is humble in his victories and gracious in his defeats....
poor nadal....looks like he will have the stats but will never get peoples love.

well said sir, it does not matter whether he gets love from many, but atleast some he has got and he has achieved great thing , ie to contain a player who is said to be greatest (one of the) tennis players,

He doesn't have the stats...Nadal enjoys a 12-6 advanatge over Federer in their head to head rivalry.....but if you split it, you will get a fair idea of why that rivalry is skewed in the favor of Nadal..
12-6 might sound like dominance but the split is something like this : 9-1 to Nadal on clay 2-3 to Federer on hard courts 1-2 to Federer on grass 0-0 on carpet
Which proves that 12-6 advantage is mainly cos of clay!! Nadal does not make it to the finals of most hard court tournaments....also, Nadal and Federer are in different parts of the draw which means that if they meet, they would only do so in final....
On the other hand, Fedex makes it to the last stage of many clay court tournaments and then gets beaten by Nadal...now you know why Nadal enjoys that 12-6 advantage....

this is just a physcological effect which fed is having angainst nadal....otherwise there is no technique in play of nadal...he is young and energetic.....just runs on court fast...that' it....He can't hold the position for too long....

You know buddy...its something like this..lets talk of cricket..Mathew Hayden, in the last few yrs has scored most prolifically...much much more than Sachin & Lara...but hey!..no one (who understands the game) would reckon Hayden to be a better batsman than either Lara or Sachin..why?..its because of the class my friend...Nadal may will loads of titles in future...but Roger belongs to a different class altogether..a class where men like Rod Laver, Pete Samprass belongs..the basic difference between Rafa & Roger is that of a top class mechanic/craftsman and a top grade painter..Rafa holds a much better head-to head carrear record, no one can deny the stats...but Watching Federer at his best is a sublime experience, an experience that can never be expected from Nadal's style of tennis. But one thing is for sure...their rivalry (on court) is perhaps the finest thing to happen in men's tennis in the past two decades
