Mr. Gill has long outlived his usefulness to Hockey, if not to the nation. If he will quit, as he claims, only when Indian Hockey does well again, wouldn't that actually act as a disincentive for him to improve the game? After all, wouldn't he be writing his own recognition letter by improving the game? He would therefore be more inclined to maintain status quo so that he can continue to claim "I'll leave as soon as Indian hockey turns the corner".........a very diabolical sentiment indeed!

No,that's not true All endorsements of Yuvraj Singh had stopped, when he was in bad form and out of the team, long back. Mohammed Kaif,Parthiv Patel were out of the team and their endorsements have stopped Only a performer earns well in Indian cricket. Of course BCCI has a contract system and they can afford it because of sponsors The crux of the matter is that if people take interest in playing and watching hockey, sponsors will come and the hockey board and the players will become richer

Just tell me KK how people will start taking intrest in Hockey.... it was hocky only that praise by millions of indian long before cricket.....but once that astro turf rule came into the picture and we are left behind the European countries.... we have only 43 astroturf in india (Includeing thoes are own bye some privete school...holland have more than 200........they (hocky admin) are not looking for the betterment of hocky but trying to save there chair...can it is possible that without Physio and trainer our cricket team can match the world best teams?? then how hocky can survive......And no one putting a pistol on our head and say watch this game...thats our own intrest completly.....when you know that ,your team is not gonna win then who will watch them ?First they perform..people will start taking intrest and sponser will come .

there is already a league called Premier Hockey league. It definitely does not so much money as IPL. But it is a good tournament for hockey players.
